16 and already in the conversation as the greatest of all time.
Isn't hyperbole the best thing in the whole universe? |

Well, I understand your stance. But that's what some said about LBJ as well when he was on the cover of SI. When I see Thon Maker, I agree completely with OLG, skillset and size never before seen. Now will that hold up? That's the question, but no one has ever seen the likes of this kid at 16. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

Wow, he's like KD, but even taller. That's incredible. |

I think he's a better passer and has better handles and body control than KD. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

It's really hard to say whether those skills can translate to the bigs though. He's certainly better than his peers which most NBA caliber players are in high school.
I'd agree, his handles are really, really impressive. Looks like a guard out there. |

It's just Shaq's usual, a change-with-the-wind lip flap. |

Can he become the version of Shaq that can actually hit free throws? _________________

Which makes it a perfect topic in a thread about Shaq. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

The only thing that could stop him is injury. Otherwise, he will be amazing. Heck, he already is. |

I think that may be stretching. I'm not saying that it's not true, but he's not going up against NBA competition.
Also, I'm not sure how much you've seen him play. I surely haven't. Highlight clips can be misleading.
There is definite talent and ability there though. Wow. |

Yup, I was looking for this article to post here. Too much hype on these young kids these days because of the "mix tape era". Just like Wiggins' mix tape made some people claim he was a once-in-a-generation type talent. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

If he's 7' 1" or 7' 2" now, isn't there a possibility he gets to 7'5" or 7'6" by the time he's fully grown?
If so, this could have many consequences for his health down the line, like all super tall NBA men in history. Plus, exactly how useful will his handles be at that height against NBA caliber players? |

Shaq's proclamation that "Brook Lopez is the best center in the league" is when I stopped taking anything he says as being legitimate or sincere. He's just the type to say ish just to say ish. A buffoonish clown, if you will. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.
