Thought this was pretty cool. About a week ago.

http://newsok.com/kevin-durant-defends-kobe-bryant-on-twitter/article/5140604?custom_click=rss

Quote:
Basically, @waldorfsfinest starts with the argument that people have forgotten that Bryant played with Shaquille O’Neal, a discredit to Bryant, who is generally thought of as one of the top 10 players of all time. User @StaxxFifth jumps to the Kobe defense with “so u acting like that [expletive] aint almost score 100 points in a game before?”

Durant’s response is simple.

Quote:

@StaxxFifth @waldorfsfinest facts
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) August 6, 2014

Quote:
@Waldorfsfinest then directly asks KD: “You couldn’t score 81 if you were jacking up shots like Kobe?” Durant responds with a series of Tweets, basically defending the degree of difficulty of scoring 81 in a game.

Translation: This stuff isn’t easy. The NBA is hard. Give Kobe his props.

Quote:

@StaxxFifth @waldorfsfinest u just throwing that around like scoring 80 is scoring 20 lol.
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) August 6, 2014

Quote:

@StaxxFifth @waldorfsfinest this ain't the pits league or watts. This real structured basketball..
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) August 6, 2014

Quote:

@StaxxFifth @Domo_HTTR @waldorfsfinest 81 on 46 shots is pretty damn good. U want him to shoot 20 shots to get 80?
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) August 6, 2014

inb4 "Do it Mitch!" "#KDtoLA2016" etc..

Kobe brought this team so close to the celtics ring count i would be happy and more than pleased if Durant helped get us past celtics ring count. A man can dream.

That guy got Durant riled up by bashing Kobe
KD might not be aware that these hacks are doing this for the hits.

lol at all those haters acting like 81 is easy to do. People forget we were down 18 in the 3rd quarter and we end up winning the game by double digits. (bleep) had to be done and Kobe took charge and did it.

Game recognizes game.

If there's one guy to take a crack at it, it's KD.

Not only this, Kobe out scored and destroyed (in 3 qtrs) the whole Dallas team with prime Dirk.

Yup. People discredit Kobe's 81 because it came against the lowly Raptors. People forget that if we were not up by 30 points after the 3rd quarter against Dallas, he might have gotten to 90 in that game. No one wants to talk about how Kobe did that against a team that went to the Finals that year.

Scoring 40 points is hard imagine 80 pts... bunch of knuckleheads.

Just like a moron watching a baseball game thinking they could hit a Homerun with a 95 mph fastball coming at them. They'll hurt their wrist hitting a pop up! That's assuming they could actually make contact.

I laugh when people try to discredit Kobe on that. Like Wilt Chamberlin was putting up 100 against Hakeem or Bill Russell. That 81 point game was bonkers. He probably could have gone to 90 if he wanted to.

Phil almost took him out at 72, when the game was in hand. Tex was the one that coaxed Jackson to keep the Mamba in.

Kobe would have gone over 70 twice more had Phil let him play at all in the 4th quarter of games against Dallas and one other against the Grizz.

Of all of Kobe's highest scoring games, that 52 pt 3 quarter onslaught against the Griz was probably the "hottest" I remember him being. The other 2 were more like him willing himself and his team to victories.

Yup. Idiots who know nothing about how hard it is to score in the NBA discredit Kobe's 81 because it came against the lowly Raptors. Fixed.

I think Kobe's 62 vs Dallas 61 at the end of 3 Quarters was the most insane.

Phil sat him for the entire 4th Q.

I am just surprised no other super star defended Kobe. But if you're the best at anything, people will just desregard your achievements. This world is crazy and I am not going to say they are haters but ignorant idiots- trying to downplay facts.

I don't like hero mode, but I hope Coach Scott let's Kobe break 81....especially against the Celtics.

His defense isn't that bad is it? I know he has played Kobe pretty tough a few times.

He's not an elite defender but he's not a bad one either.
