Couldn't stop thinking about Ed Davis/Jordan Hill/Andrew Bynum front court. I wonder what Byron Scott and Kareem would think about coaching him again?

NO !

Bynum should take the year off as he had mentioned and try to get his knees in a little better shape.

Paying Bynum to play 2 or 3 games and pay him $1 million is silly.

Drew did already take 2 years off.

Yes.... he would be a low risk high reward edition........ he probably only wants to play for the Lakers... so that tells you he's gonna bring everything he has if he is signed by the Lakers management.

No, its losing money for nothing edition. Its more of low risk, no reward.

Show us he is healthy, then can discuss terms. Otherwise just robbing Lakers of money.

Only if Bynum goes back to building PCs in his spare time instead of bowling and/or making it rain at the clubs.

Well I agree with you, I think if Bynum knew his knees were damaged goods he would have probably taken a year off to get his knees fixed in Germany..... he probably knows he's healthy enough to play at a good level.... and he wants to do it in a Lakers uniform... that tells you he never wanted to leave.

The J West, Magic J, early Kobe era I rarely missed games.

It was when AB started his I can cash my check in any city time-frame, I no longer cared about missing games.

Let him cash his checks somewhere else...

I'd be extremely happy if the lakers picked up Bynum and Beasley. I'm honestly not convinced that the lakers are 100 % committed to winning this year. The roster is ok but still a little suspect.

Signing Bynum and Beasley doesn't get us any closer to winning... they have no upside and plenty of downside.

No upside? Bullcrap, they have plenty of upside but also some downside. If we give them contracts that enable the lakers to cut them if they start trouble I don't see why it's so risky.

Because you're taking away development playing time from players that may have a future to give it to players that have absolutely no value...

yep. Take a close look at him, talk to the coaching and training staff. If they are ready to babysit him - do it. He still has more skills on the court than Howard and Hibbert combined.

Did someone bump an old thread? People here are acting like this is 2010. I had more confidence in Bynum when he was in Philadelphia and Cleveland.

So Bynum hasn't been a Laker since he said that and you still miss Laker games? Interesting.

I didn't for the simple reason that he wasn't a Laker. Sometimes that does make a difference. If Mitch is convinced that he is healthy enough to bring in, then go for it.

Bynum and healthy should never be used in the same sentence again.

And if he really wants to play in LA, maybe it's because he knows the Laker roster sucks which means the team will be more desperate than most.

I'm also not buying that he never wanted to leave. That's just speculation at best.

That's like saying if Mitch thinks Shaq can still dominate the league, that he should go for it and convince Shaq to come out of retirement and be a Laker again.

And not being a Laker was supposed to be easier for Bynum, especially in Philadelphia where he was supposed to get more touches and shot attempts as a bigger focus of the offense. He wasn't going to have Kobe and Gasol take shots away from him.

I call bs on your claim that you didn't have more confidence in him in Philadelphia after he was coming off his best season in LA and had fewer injuries back then.

Oh, joy. Haven't seen this question and link posted like 1000 times already. Clearly need more Bynum threads.
