I'm actually looking forward to how the "Sage Kobe" will overcome his physical durability issues and be the Kobe we know. I'm not saying he's elite level but Kobe will still be a very good player next year. Interested to see the new tools/moves he has coming out since he works on his craft so much.

Whats up with the cover?

What's he sitting on? Looks like a bus bench. Wrinkled pants? Plain white shoes? No background.

He's a Jack LaLanne 70 years old.

Jack LaLanne's feat at age 70

-handcuffed, shackled, and fighting strong winds and currents, he towed 70 rowboats, one with several guests, from the Queen's Way Bridge in the Long Beach Harbor to the Queen Mary, 1 mile.

What a horrible cover. So dark and depressing. Why would he agree to that?

In my opinion, It's all a ruse. Kobe is using it to get the media to play up the narrative they all want to witness and write about. "Kobe is an old, washed up, shell of himself, on the decline, with no hope of any further basketball success." He already knows how good he really is, and will use the low expectations to fuel the "Nobody expected this" stories that will dominate the season. I bet here will be no video of him actually playing anywhere (Just like all Summer long, though we know he's been training and playing on the low). He wants to shock and surprise. Him playing up his age will make what he's gonna do (just be regular Kobe) seem to be more amazing than it really is.

Like that Beats commercial with KG this year...oh wait that was actually true.

I actually think that he is just being more patient then he was last year. Remember the "we will have the best recovery for Achilles injuries ever" braggadocio last year, etc. Kobe's quiet on that front and I'm fine with that. He'll rightfully let his game talk.

Using the average NBA career, the average US men's lifespan, and Kobe's age and length in the NBA, he would actually be 287 in NBA years.
