Sad to think he only has a few years left. Not sure I'll ever root for an athlete quite like I have for Kobe. I literally grew up with him and followed his career like a hawk. _________________ Good Laker book I recommend, "The Biggest What-If's in Lakers History" http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-What-Ifs-Angeles-History-ebook/dp/B00BB3OEC0
Kobe Bryant adapted the nickname "Black Mamba" after his lawsuit in 2003
Steve Irwin did a special on African snakes in 2000 where he messed around with a black mamba and a green one as well (beautiful snakes, those). Got that show, believe it or not NBC played it as a special right after one of our Finals games that year. I'm betting Kobe saw it or on Discovery Channel on a rerun. You know why I think that? Because real respects real. Dons know who the other dons are. I'm an animal show junkie and I don't remember a detailed mamba segment til Steve. That was Uncle Steve-O at his height (RIP)

I admired Steve Irwin too, but didn't a "Kill Bill" character inspire Kobe's "Black Mamba" nickname?

Why the F were you named Black Mamba anyway? I should be mf-in Black Mamba.
I'm gonna amend that and claim that Quentin peeped the Irwin show and then Kobe was inspired by Quentin. Why would Quentin know about snakes like that, you know? I think we figured it out. Steve > Quentin > Kobe. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!

You are a witness. Never leave home without Kobe. Where's the beef on this roster? Kobe's the beef. He just does it. Oh, oh, oh, oh what a feeling when he wins a game at the buzzer. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!
