hanksgiving, 2013. The Lakers are on the road, and after back-to-back games in Washington and Brooklyn, Mike D'Antoni has nothing scheduled for the team in suburban Detroit. Not even a team dinner.

Bryant is on the trip, though 10 days away from his highly anticipated season debut, and hears nothing is planned for the holiday. Bryant says that's B.S.

F... Antony. That is exactly why he sucked. He didn't even try.

I love the one about when Wade gave Kobe a concussion. Glad to see Kobe put him in his place

Amazing what greatness we have witnessed. Not manufactured, not elevated, not propped up like so many have been. Despite ALL the hate, despite the constant attempt to bury him and discredit him; KOBE MOFER BRYANT remains to be my favorite player.

Hes ruined it for any other potential player to come. Kobe Bryant is my favorite.

Just a horrible leader in so many ways. Should be an assistant coach only so he can concentrate on the Xs and Os of his offense and not really deal with people.

Nice read. Always interesting to see what makes people tick.

He has a special place in his heart for kids and for those that make the best with what they have. This is one guy that doesn't back down. Fitting if the next installment Kobe comes back and kicks Trudell's ass in ping-pong.

Yup. Will be a strange lakers world without him. Has been such a big fixture of this team and up until his Achilles injury I always felt his team was always in the game and mix.

You said it best. He worked his ass off to become the legend he has become.

Quote:
With a brutal seven-game victory over the Celtics in the bank for Bryant, the 2010 offseason is dominated by LeBron James' decision to leave Cleveland for Miami.

What matters to Bryant is Phil Jackson agreeing to return to coach the Lakers again in pursuit of a third consecutive NBA title. Bryant sends James a text message. It goes like this:

"Go ahead and get another MVP, if you want. And find the city you want to live in. But we're going to win the championship. Don't worry about it."

Wow

Haha I was dying when I read that only Kobe would do that. Still believe we also would have beat the heat had we matched up with them in the finals that year. Also the one with D Wade was funny too.

Great article, thanks! Too bad most so called journalists (especially from other NBA cities) still stereotype Kobe with the bad hype from a decade ago and assume he's just a bad person.

Keep teaching them to respect you Kobe!
