Quote:
Last night some of those officers, accompanied by the Cops crew, stumbled upon a robbery in progress at a Wendy's in midtown Omaha. More than 30 rounds later, the suspect was dead, and a member of the TV crew was dying.

The Omaha World-Herald reports that the robber, who was armed only with an Airsoft pellet gun, did not fire any of the rounds, all of which came from the police. "No officers were injured and no suspects were considered at large after the shooting," the paper says.

Turns out the cameraman was a friend of a friend. Here's what our mutual friend, Mike McCann (from Sports Illustrated) wrote:

For fellow St. John's Prep alumns, especially from the class of 1994, I just learned from Richard Carfagna that our classmate Bryce Dion was killed while working on-site production for the TV show COPS. He was killed yesterday during a shoot out with an armed robbery suspect outside a Wendy's in Omaha, Nebraska. Bryce was one of my best friends in high school and he went on to an excellent career in Hollywood in film and television direction and production. He was immensely talented and successful, and gifted with an incredible sense of humor. He was very happy living in Santa Monica and doing what he loved most. He tragically died doing what he loved most, too. He'll be missed terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

The members of other nations armed services take a pretty consistent view of American soldiers with guns in their hands. It's basically well known that yankee soldiers shoot at any and everything as opposed to first taking aim, acquiring a target, then discharging their weapons, as other professional gunman are trained to do. Looks like these cop took their "spray bullets" military training with them to the streets. No way you'd miss your actual target as often as American police are prone to do if you first took care to acquire your target before discharging your weapon.

I'm curious as to how a cameraman ended up getting hit. I mean, I can't really fault the cops for shooting at the robber even though he just had a pellet gun cause there's no time to make that distinction, but how did the camera guy get hit?

Hard to get your practice time on the range between the gym and bars.

In their defense, the cameraman looked black.

Going to hell for laughing at that one too.

Living here in Omaha, the story we are hearing (not sure if it's been published), the camera man went into the Wendy's with some police officers to confront the robber. Once the gunfire started, it's being stated, that some police officers from outside the Wendy's also fired, one of the officers on the outside shot the cameraman on the inside.

Pretty much the same thing that happened here in LA when they shot that Corvette driver in the back. Some cops heard gunshots, which of course turned out to be another cop firing his weapon, so they unloaded into the poor guy....now they settled with his dad and the taxpayers are out $5 million because of their negligence.
