1) Randle and J. Hill rebounding, they are both rebounding machines, looking forward to seeing them in the same lineup.

2) Lin, is he going to be able to play the point effectively , I see him as a cross between a 1 and 2 guard, that could be a good thing. If Lin starts with Kobe then Lin and Kobe are both going to split point guard duties, but can Lin be pure point?

3) Hopefully enjoy watching a team that plays both ends of the court with passion. I do not want to ever again hear the Lakers GM say that this team will be fun to watch, because it only plays offense, the MDA team was an embarrassment.

i like the idea of randle and hill in the same lineup cleaning up the boards and *hopefully* locking down the paint.

i think boozer is a much bigger key than people think. if he can return to form the lakers are waaaaaay more dangerous than the media giving them credit for. i think he is as key as any.

as to whether or not lin can be a pure point--he was BEST as a pure point running the pick n roll. it's NBA basketball--you can never escape the pick n roll and it's a good thing the lakers have that as a 1B option on the offensive end. pick n pops with randle or kobe or booze. these lakers are going to have to put points on the board to win--they don't look like a lock down defensive team.

1. Randle's play, specifically the degree to which his nose for the ball, drive, footwork, hands and lift translate into viewing excitement (for us) and success (for both team and player.)

3. The Laker end-of-season rotation, specifically with regard to roles being played at that time by the old guys (Kobe, Nash and Boozer.)

2. The roles, production and chemistry of the third and fourth highest paid Lakers, Jordan Hill and Jeremy Lin.

1) Kobe playing like a boss as a big eff you to all the haters
2) Randle winning ROY
3) Lakers not only making the playoffs but going deep so I can tell all those who question my allegiance to the greatest sports franchise in history to stfu.

Boozer is a big key, if he can play up to his contract he will be a difference maker.

I hope you are right about Lin, but he seems to be a hot or cold player, he needs to consistent. And who does Scott play if Nash is healthy and also what working in Clarkson, the Lakers are PG heavy.

Agree with you about the Lakers defensive capability, I hope that Scott prioritize the defense, it is a must if the Lakers are going to be competitive. I am a believer that defense is more about effort than anything else, if the coach demands that everyone gives effort on the defensive end then the team will be a good at the very least at defense.

1) Looking at our bench and not seeing MDA on it
2) Watching the Lakers hold a team to under 130 points
3) Listening to the post-game show and not hearing "Uhhhm" 47 times

2. Kobe
3. Nash

As for the young players, I'm just optimistic but don't know what to expect...yet.

Nash will play as much as he can, Lin will play starter minutes, and Clarkson will play the rest. 3 is not PG heavy.

1.How does Kobe recover+re-invent himself to remain unguardable?
2.What direction does Byron Scott take the team?
3.Will Julius Randle have what it takes to contribute at a high level right off the bat (considering he's known as one of the more NBA-ready picks)?
4.Can Jeremy Lin rise to the pressure and play all-star caliber basketball for a full season?
5.Will Jordan Hill be unleashed as a nightly double-double without MDA restricting his minutes and hindering his play with moronic coaching?
6.Does Carlos Boozer still have it and will he have a re-surgance playing on a new team?
7.Can Nick Young channel his talent and become the 6th man of the year?
8.Does Steve Nash have one last run in him?
9.Will Wes Johnson focus on his D and become a defensive specialist?
10.Is Jordan Clarkson as good as he seemed to be in pre-season?

if 5 of those 10 possibilities pan out positively, we're good to go...anything more than 5 out of 10 and opposing teams better not sleep.

The reason why I say the Lakers are PG heavy is because Kobe will be also handling PG responsibilities as he always has. When Fish was playing with Kobe he did not dominate the ball because Kobe does. The only PG on the team that I can see Kobe giving the OK to handle the ball more is Nash. The problem with Nash starting with Kobe is taking away Kobe's ability to do what he does best, score. When the Lakers traded for Nash it made some sense because of MDA and his previous relationship with Nash, now it will be interesting to see IF Nash stay's healthy how will Scott deal with a PG heavy rotation.

I might be in a minority here but

- Laker Girls!
- Return of Kobe
- Laker Girls!!

PS: I was going for the Laker Girls "Trifecta" but realized that Kobe's return will definitely be a "distraction"
