Quote:
With so many new bigs, Sacre may struggle to get consistent minutes, but in an interview with Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Sacre sounded ready to get the season going and put the rest of the NBA on notice:

All-around, it’s gonna be a good year [...] It’s time to kick butt and take names.

Expectations for the Lakers aren’t too high coming into this season, but Sacre seems as if he expects the team to compete with the best of the NBA. Sacre also knows his role and as arguably the only true center on the roster, he understands what he brings to the table, and feels that will fit in with what new coach Byron Scott is looking for:

OK well... "kick butt and take names" sounds a bit strong but if that happens then great.

Wait, Kobee 2.0 must be Sacre. Makes so much sense.

The FIBA experience has R. Sacre pumped & ready to go!
I really hope he is able to contribute more than he did last season.

The players on the team were optimistic last year too and I remember a thread about it. I need to see these guys win games first.

Well Scott is gonna practice them hard, so any quitters or lethargic MFers will be quickly filtered out this season.

Glad to hear the optimism. All the players need to be confident. I'm sure a healthy Kobe helps with that.

Saying "Robert Sacre and bringing to the table" in the same sentence is an abomination!!!! What the hell does he bring to the table?

Sadly, he probably won't be able to back up those words....its too late to develop those skills to be a decent backup center, despite his height.

His pom pom's may not be as talented as others, but might be the best overall.

Since Rob-Sac is pumping sunshine; here's another "feel good" read before the battles begin:

Quote:
The Los Angeles Lakers are healthy, have new direction and a solid team mentality, and contrary to what the so called experts are saying, they WILL make the NBA playoffs next year.

This guy is a joke and for him to be running his mouth about how good the Lakers will be is even funnier. What exactly are YOU going to do to contribute Sacre? Wave your towel from the bench Mateen Cleaves style?

I get it, he's an 'energy' guy but could they not get someone else for the same money with an actual basketball skill? Shot blocker, rebounder or even an enforcer?

Maybe if we could get a Center and Sac stays off the floor dedicated to his cheerleading ; we could surprise a few teams...

Laughable criticisms - what do you expect Sacre to say? That he's going to suck and so will the Lakers? He's 'running off at the mouth' because he took an interview and said something positive? Really? I'm impressed that we have Laker interview police more qualified than he is to make those decisions.

I do wish Sacre had more lift than a cinder block, I doubt the Lakers are going to make the playoffs, but there's nothing wrong with him or any other Laker showing a little bit of attitude.

The disrespect for Sacre on this board is ridiculous. But then again every Laker is hated on this board. I often wonder whether the people here are even laker fans.

Good pick and roll defense to start with.
