I was talkin to a friend who isn't even a Laker fan and realizes our scoring situation outside of Kobe blows. |

Yes.
While I like this team and while I think all we need is TIME and EXPIERENCE, this roster also has some holes (obviously).
I'm glad we didn't break this unit up to get Artest, but I still think we could use more scoring. Getting Spree adds an aggressive scorer/slasher/shooter, a fine defender, another ball handler and just more veteran expierence for our playoff push.
Plus, and more importantly, this would allow Odom to become the "3rd option" we all know he naturally is.
And we woulnd't have to trade anyone away to get him!!
Sure, there's a risk, but we wouldn't be losing Bynum, Cook, Mihm, Kwame or Devean to get him. _________________ Everything. Changes. |

I don't know why people wouldn't want him. Most people wanted Artest, and Sprewell is probably a bit better on the court than him... |

At this point, it wouldn't hurt to have him in the lineup for half a season. _________________ Defense is my business, and business is good! |

I say yes, because of star quality. The Lakers need another consistant player. I like Sprewell because he can defend, he can shoot the 3, he plays with fire and he and odom can both be a nice #2 player together. |

I read in one of Marc Stein's recent chatrooms, Sprewell is still not willing to play for anything less than $5Million a year. |

I dont think Artest and Sprewell are in the same class.
Artest=Top 15 player
Sprewell=Decent starter the last couple of years |

Absolutely yes.
What this team desperately needs right now is a broken down 36 year old has been with an absurd case of overvaluing his worth who hasn't touched a basketball in almost a year and couldn't defend a shopping cart with a broken wheel.. |

I meant attitude, not who is the better player.

Artest was out for 70 games and still averaged 20 points back. Veterans don't lose their touch because they've played basketball for so long. I think we need to worry about balanced scoring more than defense from 1 player. |

No way. Sprewell blows. Too selfish and not enough time to learn the triangle. Plus, he's old so he won't be with the team past this year. _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

I'm frustrated that the Lakers who suck at scoring aside from Kobe would not consider Spreewell, who has heart and said he wants to play alongside Kobe and help him. Why oh why Lakers? _________________ To win the title, Lakers will have to overcome the world. |

The guy doesn't know the offense he wants a ton of money and like Artest also a head case. Too bad, Kobe needs a back up. Laron's injury has hurt the team. |

I would like to see Spree, but there are too many reasons it won't happen. One, Spree probably won't play for half the MLE, and two, the season is probably too far gone for him to learn the triangle and be very effective. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
