Not sure if Lin getting in would be a accomplishment since voting is a big factor for the all-star games....
so who do you think is the 2nd most likely Laker to make the all-star team? |

Kobe because he's Kobe.
Lin because he's a laker and will get lakers fans votes. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Lin most likely, but he will have to fight CP3 for that spot. It will come down to a popularity contest. |

Lin obviously. He was right behind Paul last season. Now he gets a Laker boost. I predict he'll be the starting PG for the All-Star game. |

None...there are too many good players in the west, don't think that outside Kobe anyone gets in; IMO. |

There won't be a second Laker named to the West all-star team this season. No chance, none. |

none unfortunately. If another does get in, we all should be very happy as it would be a sign we are over-achieving. _________________ "I don’t give a [expletive] what you say. Lin has a shot by virtue of fan voting (not his skills per se). He's already getting a lot of votes. Factor in Lakers Nation and he really has a shot. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Even if he exceeds expectations, Lin getting in would be a complete joke. Who wouldn't trade him for a Westbrook/Paul/Curry/Parker/etc. in a heartbeat? |

But that's not the point of fan voting. Fans can ostensibly vote en mass for any player they like. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I didn't see a lot of excitement when the team picked up Lin. Imagine the reaction if the team picked up Westbrook instead.
Don't fans usually want to see the best players? Who really wanted to see Lin in the game last season? |

I'd like it to be Randle, that would be the best case scenario for the team. Gasol really was the second most likely to get in if he were still with the team. I think he would've had a resurgence with Scott coaching. |

If the lakers are over achieving through the allstar break, as in 8th seed or better, you can bet Lin is going to be voted in by the Asian fan base despite putting up average numbers. Other than that theres no chance. Steve Nash having a comeback season would be a nice surprise though |

Isn't that my point? People weren't voting for him because they thought he was elite. They just voted for him because they liked him. |

That often happens though, if the nba wanted elite and not popular players, it would go NFL on the vote. |

Lin has the best chance. China will vote for him and Lakers fans will vote for him. It would be pretty bad if he was selected over CP3 or Westbrook but I can see it happening. |

I don't think any objective NBA analyst thinks Lin is elite. But it's a fan voting system and last time I checked, Lin has a lot of fans and the Lakers brand has a lot more. Perfect storm for him to be the starting PG via fan vote.
I figure the NBA will find a way to limit his votes to prevent this so that its darling CP3 will start. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

It would be ridiculous for fans to vote in players that are not worthy,
but it happens unfortunately. |

Why? It is a game for the fan's enjoyment, they should vote in who they want to see play, even if they aren't the best players in the league. It is just an exhibition. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
