Glad to hear Maxxis is aboard, they've come a long way since the time they specialized in bicycle tires back in the day.

Maxxis has made a good choice.

The tally so far is Jeremy Lin + 2 Rocket picks + Maxxis advertising revenue.

Good deal.

It looks like the Rockets are on the way down. So much for Howard leaving LA to be with a 'contender'.

Yeah, the loss of that Maxxis sponsorship moves them 2-3 spots down the Western Conference standings and us up about 2-3 as well.

Playoffs here we come baby!

Never heard of them, but I guess whatever fills the coffers of the Lakers organization is a good thing.

I know some people trivialized Lin's business impact but this is proof that he a good pickup in that sense. Lakers may not be contenders this upcoming season, but we have a lot more compelling players/storylines than last year (Kobe, Lin, Randle the top 3 IMO). That companies are coming over to the Lakers because of Lin is a financial cherry on top.

Hmm. Company operates out of Taiwan.

Quote:
A company that became a sponsor of the New York Knicks thanks to "Linsanity" is following Jeremy Lin to Houston.

Maxxis Tires, a tire brand whose global headquarters are based in Taiwan, announced Tuesday afternoon that it would become a sponsor of Lin's new team, the Houston Rockets.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8245555/taiwanese-tire-company-follows-rockets-guard-jeremy-lin-houston

Maxxis FOLLOWED Lin to Houston. Lin leaves Houston to Lakers. Maxxis leaves Houston to FOLLOW Lin to Lakers.

Taiwanese company, they left the Knicks when Lin went to Houston Left Houston when Lin came to LA. Basically unless you've been following Lin and the statements by Maxxis over the last 3 years - you wouldn't know this.

Let's trade Lin now just to see what Maxxis does, then send him around the league; could be fun to watch.....

Sounds similar to the Kumho Tire deal, these aren't mega deals, but they do add up for the team. For the other team across the hallway, their sponsorship deals totaled about $10-$13million last year.
