Klay Thompson benefits from playing in a high-paced offense... if you put him in a slow-paced offense like the Spurs/Thunder he would struggle to score.

I can understand why his AGENT said this - he wants to get paid! Although I like Klay's game and his effort on defense, he still doesn't have as many moves of KB _________________ "Love me or hate me; it's one or the other. Always has been. Better question is this. How does Klay compared to a comparably aged Kobe? Not even close. Just goes to show how shallow the SG pool is at this point.
It's simply because Kobe is older and injured. Klay at 36? Probably playing golf.
This. Klay's agent could be right, but the SG position is so watered down that no defense Harden is widely considered the best. The mere fact that a 36 year old, 20 year vet is still considered the measuring stick and probably still a top 5 SG, is sad. Just like the center position, who cares who's best when the current crop isn't great? Claiming to be the best SG or C today is equivalent to being the tallest midget.
One could also make the argument that the line between PG and SG positions is becoming increasingly blurred. I consider guys like Williard, Steph, Westbrook, Rose, etc. as 1.5s, not necessarily PGs or SGs. Klay might not even be the best shooting guard on his team with that in mind.
Would you throw a max at Kahwai Leonard? Or Klay Thompson?
I would for Leonard, though I'm sure Spurs will match it. By why not!
Kahwai easily. Much higher cieling that Klay, able to impact the game in a major way without being an offensive focal point (yet). Though I think the Warriors are significantly less likely to match a max offer for Klay. The Spurs have Jedi mind-tricked their guys into accepting less so I could see Kahwai taking a discount lol.

Yeah. Maybe they get an extension done early, but I wouldn't hesitate to throw a max at Leonard. He's from the LA area too. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

The SG position was stacked a few years ago; that's the funny part.

Kobe is probably keeping tabs on all these clowns.... I have no idea what to expect from the Mamba but I'd hate to be on the other side of the court when he tees off...

Kobe is no longer the elite shooting guard in the league, not a surprise. We are talking about the worlds greatest players, but what Kobe has to offer still, IMO, is the ability to lead and close better than any other NBA player. Kobe is still an elite player, just not the best overall player at his position in the NBA.
Klay is a shooting guard that does play both ends of the court, and at this time because of his youth, endurance and the fact that he can flat out shoot from anywhere on the court certainly makes him an elite shooting guard.
I hope that Kobe Bean Bryant is totally healthy, if he is then my first paragraph will apply. _________________ .....

Do you really think klay's agent is going to put this out there unless klay himself consents to it? Who does the agent work for? Wake up.
Wake up? You should at least be accurate with your post title (which I see you changed. Kudos). Your point is speculation when the article explicitly states that it's klay's agent. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Maybe but the agent is under klay's control...not the other way around.
Folks need to stop getting there nickers in a bunch every time someone says something they don't like about Kobe....Kobe is no longer the player he once was, we gotta accept. Also, when these agents or experts talk about players being better than Kobe, they probably are speaking under the assumption that a) Kobe is very old now, b) Kobe has been injured the past 2 years and c) no one knows what Kobe is still capable of doing. _________________ New Beginings

And if the agent gets klay a max deal? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
