Wilt is ‘Forever’ – Actually, Wilt Chamberlain already is an NBA immortal. But he apparently will become one of the United States Postal Service’s “forever” stamps this winter.
The Babe Ruth of basketball was pitched years ago to the USPS to be honored with his own postage stamp, perhaps as part of its Black Heritage series and pegged to Chamberlain’s legendary 100-point game.

Great honor for the most dominant basketball player of all time! Too bad the stamp will feature him in a Philadelphia uniform and not the Forum Blue and Gold.

The part about watching Wilt that sticked out of my memory the most, even 40 some years later, was his free throwing.

Why did he have to step way back inside the semi-circle when attempting FT?

That is one incredibly phallic and potent stamp.

Yeah but the good thing about the stamp is that you get to use it 20,000 times

Wilt’s USPS stamps unveiling:; it's finally here
Quote:
Now he’ll make a little more NBA history, as the league’s first player to appear on a USPS stamp. After a six-year campaign begun by longtime Philadelphia Tribune sportswriter Donald Hunt, Chamberlain will be honored on Friday with two events in his hometown on the official release date of the XXL stamps.

Quote:
Big man, big numbers, big legend, big stamps.

It’s only fitting that the two Forever USPS postage stamps commemorating basketball Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain may barely fit on some envelopes. Chamberlain himself barely fit on the NBA scene and in a life that ended too soon at age 63 in 1999.

Wilt even tried shooting FT underhanded, Wilt tried everything to improve his FT shooting.

Anybody that professes to respect the person would never refer to Wilt as "The Stilt", as he absolutely detested that nickname. Just an FYI...
