I'm always excited to see what kind of game winning shots and clutch shots Kobe will deliver especially when he's healthy enough to play... his best clutch-shooting season came during the 09-10 season... I think he's gonna have one of those years were he breaks the opponents back with his clutch shooting....

how many do you think he will make?

Clutch shots is hard to quantify. I mean, a clutch shot can happen in the 1st quarter.

Game winners? My over/under for this season is 1.5.

What qualifies as half a clutch shot?

I think Kobe will make 3-4 game winners this year.... especially in the big games.

Ha. That's an over/under for game winners (not clutch shots). Kobe hasn't had many game winners in recent years, mostly as a result that he's relegated to the jumper more so now than his younger years when players had to back up a little to prevent being taken off the dribble.

Clutch shots, different story. I mean, hitting a jumper when the opponent is on a 6-0 run can be considered clutch. Making an and-1 could be considered clutch. Clutch just seems too vague to quantify.

Yeah, I could be wrong, but I think he may have had one or two during the 12-13 season, but I believe 09-10 was the last time he truly went off and was hitting game winners left and right (might have had six or seven major gw's that year).

Hopefully for the games we win we have a nice cushion (in points) so that gw's aren't necessary; but if they are tight, I do hope he can pull off some clutch miracles like some of the ones we have seen in the past...

I'm saying 3.

That '09-'10 year was incredible. I'm trying to remember off hand how many he had that year.

vs Sacremento
at Milwaukee
vs Miami
at Memphis
at New Orleans
at Toronto

??

I think he had a gw (but not a buzzer beater) in Boston that year as well (over Ray Allen)... could be wrong though...

We need the season to start already.

Predicted clutch shots?

Next is how many times a player gets hit in the crotch and so on...

He'll miss more games than hit game-winners probably.

How many bad threads/posts will you make this upcoming season? You are already off to a good start.

Clutch plays imply tight games and critical moments of play. I just don't anticipate much of that happening with this squad. I hope that Kobe proves to be durable enough a player this season to endure the rigors of a long regular season. That alone will be plenty clutch enough for me, this season.

So how many "tight games" and "critical moments of play" did Kobe have in the 2012-2013 season?

17? Or was it 18 when he had a critical play at the 4:05 mark of that second quarter.

I concur with ringfinger, we should hope that Kobe doesn't need to make any clutch shots (which usually implies very close games), personally, I'd much prefer that lakers win comfortably - by larger margins

Yup, that would certainly be ideal. The less stress we have to put on the man's legs, the better.
