| Setting the expectations unreasonably high is not going to work out well for Jim, Mitch and Baron. I remeber last year some posters were expecting to win 50 games, and even tormenting posters who expected to only 38. |

Could have happened if Kobe was playing and the injury bug didn't plague the whole team.

The key to his thinking is when he talks about Gasol "dropping from the sky" in 2008. I think he is waiting for another all star to poach this season and he's got J-Hill set up as the anchor trade bait.

| if Scott can get this team to play defense with effort this team team can win it all. Pistons 04. To much offensive firepower to gameplan for and they all play with too much passion. They want it more than anyone else....look at some our guys playing style. They are winners. |

This is just delusional and rather disrespectful to the other teams in the conference. I'm not so sure the team they are fielding is better than the 06 squad, and the competition is stronger now than it was back then.

That's always going to be the Lakers mentality no matter how unlikely it seems. They aren't getting away from that and it's important to instill that kind of mentality and attitude early and moving forward.
Glad they are sticking with it honestly. |

Teams don't fill seats by saying they're rebuilding. TWC doesn't get ratings by having Mitch say we're rebuilding. It's good to remind everyone that championships are what they play for.
In the meantime, the Lakers are rebuilding. |

I don't think you can rebuild with Kobe on the team. At least not on the accepted definition of the word. Saying you are rebuilding, is an admission and acceptance of defeat. Can't do that with Kobe. |
