Redemption for Perez, he could've won it a couple of times but he blew it until now. |

Royals are a tougher matchup for the Angels, they are much scrappier team than Oakland. |

They were the best team in baseball for a while and they choked the 2nd half of the season. |

If the A's wanted to win anything, they should just go the Marlins route. Because whatever they are doing isn't working, its only a recipe for early playoff elimination. |

So I guess the Warriors are the only decent Oakland team around, Raiders are 0-4 and A's are bounced in the playoffs already. |

Man, that was one great game to watch last night. I was hoping the Royals would win, it is good to see them back in the playoffs. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Not gonna lie, not crazy about Edinson Volquez pitching in such an important game. I remember when he pitched for us last year...Wasn't he like our 4th/5th starter? |

Just as I suspected, bases loaded, no outs, for the Giants right now. I told you guys Volquez was going to screw it up. Of all the great pitchers out there, they had to luck into facing him. |

Didn't see the game but not surprised the Giants won. They still have a roster of guys who are experienced in the postseason. Very dangerous team in a 5 or 7 game series. |

Gave up a grand slam.....either way, I don't think the Pirates stood a chance since this roster of Giants players seem to show up come playoff time. |

You probably said the same thing before the Giants won their last 2 World Series.
It would be a great matchup because of the rivalry between the teams. I'll never forget the first year I started watching baseball in 1993. The Dodgers killed the Giants 12-1 on the last day of the season, which eliminated the Giants despite SF having 103 wins. That was payback for the Giants ruining the 91 season for LA. In fact it was payback for a lot of things the Giants did over the years.
Edit: Okay you're a Cardinals fan. Makes sense. |

I don't think so; not this year. After Bumbarner, their starters drop off rapidly in talent, though Peavy was good down the stretch. Since Bumgarner will pitch only once against Washington, some combination of Hudson, Peavy and Petit will pitch the others. I suspect it will be Peavy, Hudson, Bumgarner, Petit, Peavy. Combined with their bullpen, I would be shocked if they beat Washington, whose 1-4 is comparable to the Dodgers, and better on the back end, with a #5 starter (aka long reliever in the post season), Gio Gonzales, who would be the Giants number two or three. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |
