If we win 25 games I will be surprised. I just hope Kobe doesn't get seriously hurt fooling around with this team. What a disgrace.

Thats not a prediction. It is where they set the number to induce equal bets on both sides. When the Lakers are good, the number is often high because so many fans bet the over. Conversely, when they are down, the same fans tend to get very pessimistic, and the haters pile on with their emotional bets.

They won 27 in a season mostly without Kobe or Nash, with Gasol on autopilot, with the most injuries in the league, and with them throwing in the towel and trading or sitting guys down down the stretch.

Nobody is giving this team much of a chance, if that doesn't light a fire in them, then I don't know what does.

I hate to tell you this, but last year, the Lakers did better with Pau off the floor than on. Thats objective, statistical fact.

That's true but money talks. That should be a bit of an awakening for those thinking a 50-win season.

The lakers have a very wide range of outcomes imo. Everything breaking right and they could get 50. Not very probable.

For those who want it, the Lakers gave up 9.02 points per 48 minutes more than they scored when Pau was on the floor, vs. 3.78 per 48 fewer without him. On a per minute basis, they were 2.4 times better at point differential without him. Thats a shockingly high difference. It demonstrates the difference between raw statistics and actual value.

Assuming ALL this comes true: Kobe comes back at 100%; Nash is healthy and can play meaningful minutes; and Randle plays well enough to get on the All-Rookie Team, I predict we will win at least 40 games...

I am getting the sense that a lot of so-called fans on here will be disappointed if the Lakers win more than 31.

As a matter of fact looks like most of you just want to throw in the towel now and just get right to the off season without even seeing one game. Yay fans!

Lakers will be better than last year. That I have zero doubt.

Have you seen all the people in here who think we're playoff bound? We'd essentially need to be a team that can win 50 games just to sneak in.

They had their worst season in years, that will not be hard to accomplish. Now the degree of how much better is up for debate.

Maybe since your sense is only 45 posts, it's still getting warmed up, but not a lit of people would be upset if we win over 31.

No offense, but some folks make his sense pretty hard to quibble with...

The under on the Warriors at 50.5 wins should be popular in here too. A lot of people here are expecting them to miss the playoffs this year because they fired Jackson.
