I just wonder how in the world anyone would stop a prime Shaq in a one on one game. I know Kobe or Jordan if they started off with the ball could probably win if they hit all their shots. But when Shaq gets the ball, then what? Dude is just gonna back you in all day and dunk on you.
When Shaq had the ball,he could just back down to the basket and dunk. When Jordan or Kobe had the ball, Shaq would have to camp underneath and let them take wide open midrange shots. It would be a terrible game all around.
Kobe and MJ would stand a chance because Shaw would have to take it at the top of the key after a make. Them he'd have to consistently dribble it to get to the paint.

If it's playground rules where you're not calling ish like the Barkley rule for backing a man down, or some weak ass flopping, nothing will stop Shaq from backing down from the top of the key. That's 2-3 dribbles and most.
THIS.
Anyone who says Shaq wasn't skilled either doesn't know basketball or has never seen him play.
He had no shooting touch but he had almost everything else.

And he might still be convinced that he can play pg...

Prime Shaq was as quick as Kobe or MJ. I don't know if he would stop them, but they wouldn't stop him. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
shaq was everything ive ever wanted in a big man from a basketball stand point.
i can do without the free throws.. but shaq was just BAM MOFO WHAT U GONNA DO IMA GO UP AND JUST THROW IT DOWN.
its like i dont get the feel from any of these big guys.. bynum was a dominant in his prime, but his injuries/mentality kind of stopped em in my opinion.
Nice vid, but MJ wasn't iin beast mode. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

Anything could happen, but I think one of the SGs would miss before Shaq did, and I don't think Kobe or Jordan are getting any offensive rebounds
A thread like this is why Michael Wilbon consistently puts big men in another category when ranking all-time great players... It's unfair to the little guys. _________________ Whenever the Lakers benefit all of a sudden rules need to be changed and trades need to be blocked.

Last time I checked, a prime shaq got schooled by some guy on the Houston Rockets.
Shaq actually gave as good as he got in that series. His stats were right there with Hakeem's. Shaq's team got man handled, but Shaq did his part, and this was quite a few years before Shaq's prime.

No one really saw prime Shaq per se, in '95 he still had his athleticism, but his experience was a bit off (he was exploited that series into an inordinate number of turnovers), in 2000, the power was there, as was the experience, but the athleticism had suffered from years of injuries (the LSU/Orlando Shaq were athletic freaks of nature), the competition at center was gone though. _________________ I believe everything the media tells me except for anything for which I have direct personal knowledge, which they always get wrong
