I'm not sure if it's just preseason or not... because he's shown in the past of having these kind of high-energy games.... I think a double-double with 2+ blocks is not out of question... if he keeps it up...

Thank you Memphis!

He's going to need to rebound better. 1 board isn't going to cut it. Otherwise, I'm impressed. He set some nice screens for Lin when they were both in the game. For the minimum, I don't think we could ask for anything better if he keeps it up.

Agreed. It looks like it was best steal of FA of any team.

If he can give us 9+ rebounds and 2.5+ blocks per36 minutes I will be so so happy.

Not sure steal of the season can be defined after 1 preseason game, but he looked great. Rolled to the basket well, great timing on blocked shots. Agree about the boards, he needs to do better there.

All in all, a very solid first preseason game.

Liked his game and energy. Worried about him having to bang with bigger bodies out there. He's pretty lanky and not sure he's going to be able to get enough position to get defensive boards. Offensively, it's doubtful he'll get open looks to the basket like he did against that backup C from the Nuggets, so would like to see more of his offensive game against a few more teams. Seems like a great pickup though.

For the amount he is getting paid, Davis is an absolute steal. I have no doubt, he'll be the backup center by opening night.

He's great over Sacre in my opinion. Very fast and can move with the offense.
He's not Hill though. Hill still managed a double-double playing with the slower going starters. I think Hill is also more stable down as a rebounder.

NO DOUBT, HILL IS A DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE BUT DAVIS IS WAY BETTER THAN BOB SAC.

Ed Davis is easily the backup 5 to Hill. The 2nd unit with Lin/Ellington/Young/Randle/Davis is going to be fun to watch. Then there's also Price/Clarkson/Henry/Sacre/Kelly to round out the roster.

wow this team is deep, players just need to find their roles and hopefully Byron Scott knows how to make substitutions that will be able to maximize all our players abilities, no one on this team should be playing more than 30 minutes a game.

I like his length and pretty good athlete. I just wish he was a little stronger.

He's a good shot blocker but needs to put on 15 more pounds, not strong enough.

Sacre is a great 15th man, like Madsen. He'll probably be a coach for us one day.

I think he looked very fluid on the court. The ball was taking some odd bounces tonight but he seemed to be very comfy in a new system on a new team. We needed depth and we got it in a player that is maybe not a starter on another team but a very serviceable backup where you see almost zero drop in that position. That will be huge with the 2nd team.

Great post...Davis was a steal and no doubt should be the back-up to Hill. Sacre should really work with Madsen on how to wave a towel.

Yup. Vet's min, steal indeed. Nice to have a Pelinka client give us a major discount (I think Davis could have gotten a few $2-3m deals elsewhere, but since we have cap room in 2015, I think he's trying to audition himself here).

The Davis/Randle pairing had Denver on its heels inside. The +/- won't reflect it but the Nuggets were bailed out by some desperation three's (one a bank shot) to keep it close, that's the only answer they had, Denver was getting manhandled down low with Lin feeding Davis and these two paired up on the inside.

Just a sloppy first preseason game but it's already apparent Davis is a bargain.
