Report: Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson funded orgy for underage brother with charity money

LINK

I feel like I've been bamboozled. I saw Adrian Peterson as a role model prior to his real self being revealed.

Quote:
This is just the latest in a series of allegations this year that has dealt significant blows to the once-sterling reputation of the league's best running back.

The adage "You Can't Judge A Book By It's Cover" couldn't be more apropos.

Really? You shouldn't look to pro athletes for good morals. As the great Charles Barkley said "Parents should be role models. Just because I can dunk a basketball, doesn't mean I should raise your kids."

I guess D-Wade isn't the only one who likes orgies.

Yup.

I never understood why people hold athletes to such high standards.. I can see huge companies getting upset because the athlete may represent their "brand"..

I understood and understand where Charles was coming from. Still there was and is a group who said and say, as a pro athlete the responsibility comes with the territory. That responsibility is not raising your kids it's being a role model.

I agree with both.

May as well, he won't be playing this year. I wonder if someone will pick him up? He's still one of the best RB in the game.

Side note query: Is he still being paid?

Yes, he is still being paid. (As he should be).

He should still be playing. But that's for a different day/thread. =)

I am shocked. Shocked! That you were let down. I mean it's not like you made the same admitted mistakes with OJ and Michael Vick or anything.

Didn't make any mistakes with OJ or Michael. I'm a advocate for the system not either mentioned.

OJ was found not guilty, Michael did the crime served the time. OJ's guilt is supposed by many, I've never voiced my choice.

Michael seems contrite and I hold my position he should be allowed to rejoin society to prove whether he is or is not without harassment.

I've not forgiven him for this crime, it was heinous. I will allow him to live with the guilt and contriteness without disapproval from me, unless he missteps.

If he missteps I think it would be unfair to treat him as the judge did in OJ's case, sentence him for past crimes not the one charged.

Ha ha, I remember going to "Gentleman's Clubs" with my boys back in the day and we would always load up first on a huge wad of $1 dollar bills.

Instead of making it rain, we would make it drizzle.

Start the Peterson sweepstakes. I wonder where he goes when the Vikings cut him, unless he is suspended for a year?

12 consecutive losing seasons, playing in a dump and in the only place that still shares a stadium with a baseball team, management in the shadow of Al Davis legacy, a revolving door of head coaches and washed up players, really there is nothing that can really sully the reputation of the franchise anymore.
