Could somebody tell me his status? When is he supposed to come back from his injury? With Young out, we need someone to back up Wes and Kobe. He is the guy that can do it... |

The last report I saw, about a week ago, said there was no time table for his return and he could miss the start of the regular season. He has been limited to running on a weight-bearing treadmill because of his knee, and then there were reports he was having back spasms. |

He was at practice yesterday and participated in walkthroughs of the offense. Scott said he might practice today - depends on how he feels when practice starts. _________________ <-- My avatar is Margaret Nolan from one of the Carry On films. We really could use him at the SF back-up spot. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Absolutely, but the injuries many mention are a concern. We'll see.. |

I like X so I hope he gets back soon. Good defender and a strong finisher. Also a decent 3-point and mid-range shooter. If he can stay healthy he will help greatly. I hope he worked on his off hand and free-throw shooting while out with the injury. _________________

Not sure why all the venom, directed at Henry.
I'm not going to judge him by his "career numbers", because he is a young player, and can improve, if he puts in the work. Last year, Henry played very well for the Lakers. He had his off games, but overall, showed much promise.
As far as his injury concerns, the Lakers signed him to a one year deal, I believe. He'll have an opportunity to show if he really has a place on this team, or if he's more suited to a high volume offense, ala D'Antoni.
I like X. And, as long as he's a Laker, I wish him good health, and good luck.

Too bad X's lack of good health keeps crossing him off the active roster.
Doubt Ellington can guard 3's but that guy looked like a smart player that not only can shoot but knows when to pull the trigger. _________________ We back. |

Because he sucks as a player. He's sucked in every season. Under every coach. In every system. On every team. You can put him on a high octane guard friendly team (where basically every guard but X thrived) and he doesn't do any better than if you put him on a slow pace team.
On top of that, he can't even stay healthy! So what exactly is there to like besides the fact that he looks like a young Denzel Washington?
Nothing.
You can hang on to the "if this, if that, if this then that" all you like for as long as you like. But the story has already been told. |

Perfect! As long as he is healthy for 20 games untill Young is back.... then Henry can rotate in, when healthy, the rest of the season.
I'm working at being a glass half full kind of guy. |

I look forward to X's return. He's a very talented player, strong on defense, can attack the rim, strong finisher, good ball handler, decent shooter from mid and long range, and a fairly smart player with a good personality. He's one of the best all around players on the team. Yes, he's had some injury issues, but talk about low risk high reward. With his age and talent level it's a risk I'd take every time for what we are paying him. I'm very happy X is on our team.
Hurry back Xavier! |

Does he? I can't think of even 2 good things he's good at. Getting to the basket and .... riding the pine? I dunno.
I know athletic dunkers get free passes more than a lot of other players, but, what exactly does X have that you think I can't just get from any other ball player at his position? |

2 things; good slasher, good 3 point shooter; probably around .350 give or take..
I did not say great, you asked two things he's "good" at...lol |

Xavier is valuable to this Lakers team. He can guard 2 and 3. Behind Wesley, he is probably our best wing defender. |

He's a good slasher sure but he doesn't finish well. His FG% on shots close to the rim is among the worst on the team.
And I don't agree about him being a good 3 pt shooter. He's a career 32.5% shooter from there.
Just curious, does anyone know if there has ever been a "good" 3pt shooter by reputation that shoots below 70% from the FT line? |
