It's the Gary Vitti curse. This reminds me of the Karl Malone injury that cost us the chip.

Not using the option on Horry and keeping him another year cost them the chip.

The problem with X being out is that Young is already out. I believe the real plan is Wes playing 20 minutes a game and Young playing the rest (if not more). Kobe can also fill in at the three, but Ellington better find his shot soon. Right now he looks like utter garbage.

he scorches people in practice, misses during games.

Sound familiar?

I think he doesn't trust Vitti so he went cross country to make sure his knee is fine. Good move. Can't we trade for the Suns' Medical Staff in exchange for all of Houston's picks? Fair deal to me.

Pleasant surprise for the Lakers: despite missing the preseason, Xavier Henry is available to play tonight.

This doesn't make any sense at all... I thought he hadn't practiced in like a month and wasn't he going to New York for a second opinion on his knee? Also to Germany, right?

This makes 0 sense.

He's active to play, doesn't mean he will play. But let's say there's a freak injury to Clarkson and Kobe needs a 5min breather, Xavier will be active to step in.

He'd practiced, went to Germany and got the Kobe procedure, came back and missed the rest of pre-season, did some work yesterday and said he felt really good.

Today was the day they were gonna test him and make him run and do all that hard stuff.

If he did well enough to be made available tonight then that must be a good sign.

Either way, he still has to get in shape and get used to the offense so he may be available but I'd be surprised if he played.

I'm glad X can play some spot minutes in case Wes goes full (bleep) with the turnovers.

Looks like X didn't want to go through that grueling training camp. He and Kelly were on XB0x.

Not sure how much he'll be able to contribute but just having bodies at the 3 is good.

Maybe it's all a part of scotts plan. Maybe he's trying to make it difficult for teams to scout us. we haven't even seen the real rotation yet.

I don't understand the timeline. His injuries seemed more severe given the "second opinion" he was seeking, missing training camp, and heading to Germany for Reginokine.

Regardless, I am glad he is more healthy than what the media made it out to be. We could use him back ASAP.

So Xavier didn't touch a ball all summer because of his wrist, then couldn't run as of late because of his knee.....can a player be any further out of playing condition than this?

He hasn't played 1 minute with this lineup, let alone with Kobe since he came back. It's going to be rough incorporating him in real games where his style of play doesn't necessarily mesh with a lot of the pieces.

That being said, with Wes as our only SF, we need all the help we can get.
