Well, Byron's no stranger to 18-64 and 19-63 teams in his career, I still think he can help this club, just didn't consider him helping to get a Top 5 spot en la loteria de la NBA.

Well his last 2 teams ended up with a great pick after his first year.

To be fair, they will be slightly better once Lin, Young and Clarkson heal up... but with the exception of Kobe, this might be a worse team than last season.

Top five pick here we come.

Throw in X, Kelly, and (maybe) Nash too.

Lakers schedule is brutal. First 15 games, vs HOU, @PHX, vs LAC, @ GS, vs PHX, vs CHA, @ MEM, @ NO, vs SA, vs GS, @ ATL, @ HOU, @ DAL, vs MEM, vs MIN

This is a 25 win team at best, None of these players except Kobe would start on any team in the league. Wes, Ellington, and Price belong in the d league and Hill and Boozer are bench players. Scott was set up to fail with this roster.

Haha, we could easily start 0-15.
I have us going 1-13, win vs MIN. This will be one of the worst teams in the NBA for sure. Even the 76ers and Bucks are playing better defense with Noel and Henson as rim protectors.

By the 15th game, Wiggins would have come around. Oh no..

You know, all joking aside...the dude's been the trainer ever since I can remember. That's 30 plus years. I think it's time for some new blood. Clean house. Let's get rid of whatever bad juju is stinking up the place.

Stage is well set now for Linsanity...
He will not disappoint if given at least a chance to run the 1st team offense, which now should happen due to this past week if Scott is not incredibly stubborn and just tests giving Lin a chance to be trusted to get comfortable with playing true PG (along with Davis with significant time with the starters).
I mean, zero 3 ptrs in 5 attempts.
You will see a completely different team soon, and flashes of this Sunday.
Kobe needs to learn to play more off the ball and Lin is the best hope of distracting some attention and then artfully feeding him; if they don't trust Lin as their only hope for this now, they'll learn soon.

Laugh now, concede to me later.

Is there another hope for this team being a contender/playoff team this year?

It's not about Linsanity, we'll see what happens when/IF the entire team is healthy.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Lin sure as hell isn't good enough to make the Lakers a playoff team in the Western Conference. This team isn't even mediocre.

you do realize that Lin's strength is penetrating to get to the rim, and he can't do that if our system doesn't believe in "3's" and the lane becomes crowded right?

The only saving grace is a healthy team if we can ever get to that point.

Thanks man, that made my night.

We are all going to need some comedy relief for the 2nd straight year, so thanks again.

No chance with this roster. Much better chance at keeping the top 5 pick then making the playoffs.

It is about Linsanity.

What other hope is there beside the comeback of the penetrating PG getting hot (who will probably end up also being our best 3 pt shooter) to draw off some attention from defenses having laser focus on Kobe. You have nothing else promising with the players we have, so all you can say is that Lin is not that good.

I'm a fan, but it seems very obvious it will happen to me in Lin's development, and there was no room for that with Harden and Howard or to even try letting Lin take the lead. You'll see.

Well you'll have all season to dissect how Byron Scott and Kobe are destroying Lin's game.

i know top picks are a good thing but i can understand why coaches aren't big on them. ideally it would great to get a 4 year college player but they are very rare because the ones with the most talent go pro after 1 year instead of staying and maturing.
