The floor is totally unbalanced with zero 3pt-shooters and zero inside presence. The mid-range shot is the goto move for 85% of this team even though the transition D is so bad

I can't believe it but it's like we have LESS talent than last year even with Kobe

PS: Boozer and Hill do not compliment each other AT ALL

This was clear even before preseason though no?

There is a reason bigs who can score make a ton of money. They're rare.

Don't disagree with you. Roster has a ton of holes. As I've said all offseason long ... we lack a second scoring option and we have no core competency on which we can rely for consistent offense.

Hated MDA, but we had the 3-ball at least. I think people will see that even though MDA sucked, you can't get blood from a stone.

Pau was a big part of the team's inside presence. If we kept Pau and added Davis to start I think we'd be better off. Should have given Pau 13M per and tell Hill to choose some other team or take 6m.

They tried, but Pau said no.

It would be good to have one who could also play a little defense and rebound. I don't see any available, though.

Boozer and Hill are the worst starting frontcourt in the league and it's not even close. Dantoni would have started Randle and Davis. There will be a lot of boos at Staples center if Randle isn't starting and were still losing. Scott will have to or he's going to be the scapegoat.

This offense is not designed for our bigs to score inside. Instead they get the ball 20 ft away from the basket

And some people said they wouldn't miss Pau...HA!
Skilled big men don't grow on trees, which is why teams always will try to get these guys on their team.

Wish I had a list of all LGers who said Boozer is approximately equal to a "disinterested, heartless" Gasol dropping 17 and 10 a game last season.

Teams without strong post presences or stretch big men have some success at using their bigs as passers from the high post (GS, Chicago). I think the Lakers are trying to do that, but spacing is not there to do it.

We also don't have the cutters.

We had one last season but too bad the front office and the coaching staff last year burned some bridges with him. He now plays in Chicago.

I hope they weren't thinking this would be Randle. Resigning Kaman for this roster actually would have made sense.

Bynum on D probably would even on one leg be more effective than Hill. And certainly more effective than Booz.

Miroslav Raduljica played very well at world cup.
Not long ago he was available.

But then we have Davis.

Wouldn't mind to see Scott trying out different combos of bigs.
Davis with Hill, Randle+Hill, Booz+Davis.

It will be interesting to see what Kelly will bring upon return.

Even with Pau, I think this team is just really horrible. We just need help at everbody position.

front office f'd up in ruining relationship with pau. We have midget C's/PF's with no post games whatsoever. And no wing players that can hit 3's. All we can hope for is giving maximum effort in competing for a top 5 pick

Yup, you're exactly right. It's such a shame too the 90's era had so many great big man now you'd be lucky to have few good ones in whole league.

Someone made a poll on here the other day asking who the better player between Pau and Boozer was during their primes.

Agree we need help at 4 of the 5 starter spots now.
Disagree about this team being horrible with Pau (and Scott as coach with Kareem, Worthy advising bigs).
It would take a month or so for KB24 and Pau to hit their stride. But that tandem would perform well together in Scott's slower paced, post-friendly, inside-out system.
I think Dr. Buss would agree with me, considering he wanted to hire Scott upon Phil's self-imposed exitus from coaching.

Hell no I wouldn't want pau. That dude was a pathetic excuse for a man. I rather have the more mobile, natural pick n roll/pop big, for today's nba than a low post scorer with no mobility (unless we're running the triangle). Not to mention boozer actually plays with energy and has an honest attitude, not anything like Paus anemic efforts, fake hustle, and general whininess. Dude's soft. It's a shame because he's very talented but it's only worth sacrificing his weaknesses for within the triangle because those are where his talents actually shine brightest. In today's nba I'll take the mobile big over the low post operator unless I'm the knicks.

Please don't compare Paus stats to Boozer's either, because pau was always a 1st to 2nd (isolation) option on the lakers, whom was featured entirely differently than how boozer was in chicago.
