His defense is only as good as his offense sadly. A lot of players struggle with this. If he could compartmentalize the two I'd have no issue with him.

he lets his offensive struggles negatively affect his defense.

He's really on the floor just to hang out and blend in. Does nothing offensively or defensively. Where's the tenacity? Make yourself visable out there. I'm tired of seeing him on the floor.

Well due to lack of options at SF we have no choice, but to see him on the floor.

Just compare him to our previous 3's; Ariza, Artest, Metta,

If only we could switch Wes's attitude/mind with Mettas

I'd put Randle at SF.

Expect he doesn't have the jumpshot and the standma for it now.

He doesn't have the jumpshot and stamina for power forward. At least he conserve energy not boxing out and trying to do bigman stuff.

Yeah, this is one of the reasons why I liked Rodman so much as a player. He didn't give a s--- about how many shots he got and lived to devour rebounds and lock people down. Not sure why more players don't try to emulate that.

People really underestimate what a freakish athlete Rodman was though. Dude could run a half marathon after a full game...

Heart matters most. Maybe Byron can get through to him. MDA certainly couldn't.

I think Metta would disagree about that

Wes was big last night during that 3rd quarter rally;

R. Price was the sparkplug but Wes contributed mightily on both ends of the court.

Didn't catch the game. But was the rally after Jazz pulled their big names like Hayward/Favors out of the game and we kept our starters in?

Wes is still wes. Superstar physical gifts, low IQ and motor, effort comes and goes. His main flaw is to coast a lot, and that doesn't appear to have changed after working with Kobe. Too bad, since with consistent effort he's a dynamo.

It's not like our starters are our starters.

Price is our third string pg. We had more guys out than they did.

Yes, and as was mentioned earlier in this thread, Wes's offense was going so the defensive effort was better.
