John Ireland just said there are people in the Lakers office that really want to give Byron Scott one more chance to coach next season, to see what he can do without Kobe. _________________ Endgame

Unlike alot of LG, I don't think Scott is the coaching anti-christ.
But hearing John say this stuff is nails on a chalkboard to me.
I sincerely hope this is Scott's last year, whether Jim and Mitch are replaced or not. And if Jim and Mitch keep him around past this year, they deserve to be evaluated harshly if the 2017 deadline kicks in.
Quote: | Ireland: "There are people inside the Lakers building that really want to give Byron next year.
They really want to see how he can coach a team without Kobe on it.
They feel like he took a bullet for the team, in these last 2 years of Kobe." |

Last 10 games, Clarkson/Randle/Russell have shared the floor for 59 minutes. Lakers have had an OEff of 111.9, DEff of 100.3 in those mins. |
Just wish these guys were old enough to earn the right to be talked to. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Most intelligent post yet, but most here don't understand that coaches are just fall guys for bad teams with substandard personnel. If I'm a coach why would I want to coach for NY or LA?
Are his results going to be better than Fisher or Byron? Hell no! Be smart like Phil and either stay as an assistant with a winner or go to a place where you have a superstars ready to win the rings. |
Teams with "superstars ready to win rings" typically don't have vacancies. There are what 30 jobs in the NBA? It's not everyday that a job like the Warriors or OKC come available. I have no doubt that Luke will avoid the waiting game and take a job this off-season while his stock is at an all-time high. I think LA will get serious consideration |

I have had an eerie feeling for months now that they are going to bring him back.
Best built in excuse of all time "Kobe" and a lot of fans are buying it. |

This will set back our team big time. No top FA will come to play for that clown. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Kobe barely played last year.
Byron didn't have Kobe in his other failure seasons before this.
Seriously, put 2 and 2 together, (bleep) FO. _________________ "There's only 2 dudes better than me, and I'm BOTH OF THEM." |

One would hope this would ignite a sizeable, preemptive backlash.

I think he will be back.
After the first few months of next year he'll be fired and the year gone to waste.
we potentially lose out on FA's because of him.
All because they want to give a coach at least 3 years after hiring some terrible coaches and firing them soon after.
How about they own up that they hired another horrible coach and attempt to fix this issue? and the sooner they fix this mess the better. Why drag everyone else through it just so their egos are fulfilled. 99 percent of the league\media\fans knows you screwed up by hiring Byron.

Kobe has nothing to do with:
* Hockey line subs
* The Doghouse
* Lack of a coherent defensive system
* The Tarik Black hole
That's all on BS. |

It would be too catastrophic of a decision, imo. There's a pretty big talent pool of coaches this summer. The year D'Antoni resigned the talent pool was extremely shallow, which lead to hiring Byron in the first place. Look at the guys that were out there for us. Byron, Hollins, Dunleavy, Gentry. There are real coaches to be had this year, and that's saying nothing of the horrible goodwill it would send to the fans and the younger players to bring back Byron. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

If Blockbuster comes back, that is just plain criminal. The league should intervene. |

he is coming back and the entire will be a throw away. like the last 3 were not enough.
this is the reason i don't trust the FO and i think no marquee FA is coming here |

We need Adam Silver to channel his inner David Stern and force the Lakers to fire Byron Scott for Basketball Reasons. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

Just think how many teams are going to be after Walton and Thibs in the off season? The Lakers have to replace Byron. _________________ Coach MWP. |

Whoever those people are need to get the (bleep) out.
Kobe or not Kobe this guy can't coach. It's painfully obvious to anyone with a brain and eyes to see.
I mean this people must not be watching the games because I don't see how anyone who is can think Byron deserves another shot. _________________ #CowboysNation
