Nice write up OP! Thanks! _________________ "We should have kept [Jeremy Lin]. Did not know he was this good," Morey wrote on his official Twitter account on Thursday. "Anyone who says they knew misleading U." - Morey (2012) |

Most fun I've had watching a Laker game in a long time. |

Thanks, DB.
This was a good game. Both Kobe and Jeremy played very well in the 4th quarter. |

Great post. Loving the chemistry with Davis and Lin. Those two should obviously be playing together maybe lead the 2nd unit. |

Thanks again DB. Exciting, frustrating, but most of all encouraging game.
Lin, Davis, and Kobe gave me a lot to cheer about, and I thought as a whole this team fought hard on both ends of the court. Davis and Lin, what a great combo. Kobe - that was vintage Assassin Mode. Hill, Boozer, Price and a couple other Lakers fought for it as well.
Wes Johnson - wow. It wasn't just the 8 turnovers, it was the timing as well. Every time the Lakers seized momentum, every time we gained an advantage that set Phoenix back on their heels, Wes would seize that momentum and throw it right back to Phoenix. Doubling up on mistakes no less. Particularly in crunch time both halves. Worst night I've ever seen from him, screw the stats. I'm just glad it's preseason. Clutch slippage.
All in all, encouraging to see this team with some fight in it. I'm hoping more than ever that Nick Young and Xavier Henry come back healthy and ready to spend some time at 3. |

In spite of Wes, it was an entertaining game. Thanks DB. _________________ "I don’t give a [expletive] what you say. That's gotta do a lot for Lin's ego and confidence to be praised by Kobe like that. |

I suspect that's the number we will see all season.
Although, tonight, he'll go lighter. |

...Would put Kobe at SF when Swaggy gets back ,use him at guard.
Think we need his scoring at start. Lakers seem to get behind from beginning
Then play catch up. Wes is the weak link in starting lineup...very disappointing. _________________ Go DODGERS !!!! |

I don't think he even touched rim on any of them. The expression on Tucker's face was priceless. Vintage Kobe just absolutely demoralizing his defenders. |

Suns didn't bother to put their best players in the fourth quarter and OT. Still extremely promising to see the Lakers stay competitive with the Suns through most of the game. |

Thanks. Yeah, it's preseason, but you can also instill a culture of competing. Kobe seems to be going pretty hard this preseason. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Lin needs moar minutes. its like god makes chit happen for him when things go wrong. lose the handle, somehow get the ball to ed for a dunk... miss a shot, somehow scramble and drive in and get a foul. |

Thanks DB. I had school and couldn't catch it live. I started watching the replay a 11 and super into it! But my body gave out and I fell asleep in the 3rd
I like hearing they competed and we got some vintage Kobe.
I still don't like the way Byron is using Julius though. He's a little too hard on him and needs to be putting the ball in his hands. Randle is a bruising point forward. Let him go to work coach! |

However, PJ Tucker was in the game and he is the best defender they have to guard Kobe. And Tucker, to his credit, did everything possible on the defensive end while Kobe drained those jumpers. |

DB, as always, thanks. A great read.

I didn't know where to post this
Bll Simmons and Zach Lowe rank the Lakers at number 17 in their annual NBA League Pass Rankings.
L.A. Lakers
Lowe: You ranked them nine spots higher than I did!
Simmons: Yup, I was responsible for 31 of these 55 League Pass points. What can I say? Who doesn’t want to see Kobe stubbornly jack up 25 shots a game and fight off Father Time? How can you not root for a Nash comeback or Linsanity 2.0? How many times will a wide-open Julius Randle get looked off in the span of six months? What about Byron Scott brazenly antagonizing the advanced-metrics community with his seemingly uneducated hatred of 3s? And is this the worst defensive team ever assembled? How many players will have their career high for points against the 2015 Lakers? I say the over/under is 24.5.
Lowe: Is this some kind of homerism by association? Does boosting the Lakers make you feel as if you are boosting the Celtics, since they are both historic giants dealing with a double dose of potential long-term irrelevance? Is this nostalgia?
Simmons: The Lakers employ an inordinately high number of players whom I enjoy watching (Aging Kobe, Aging Nash, Linsanity, Randle) or secretly enjoy watching (Xavier Henry, Nick Young, even Bob Sacre). And I’ve never NOT enjoyed Carlos Boozer getting overly excited for a relatively mundane basketball moment. Throw in Leo and Jack and Dyan and Flea and I don’t know what to tell you.
Lowe: All of the above subplots sound wonderful until the Lakers are 15-25 and Boozer is getting minutes over Ed Davis and Randle. Watching an opponent layup line gets old after a while, especially since Robert Sacre can celebrate only Lakers baskets.
Simmons: Uh-oh.
