The 1st quarter has very little impact on the game in the NBA and the actual important thing is who closes the game. |

So it's ok to get blown away by 20 pts every 1st and 3rd quarters? |

Would you really pick your starters at random?
I mean, no impact, so why bother thinking about it? |

Don't starters in NBA who are generally better than bench players usually start AND finish the games? Which means starting the game is as important as finishing the game. |

Yes. The idea that who starts doesn't matter is ludicrous. You can't just pick 5 random players to start games and then expect the same result as any other combination of 5 players.
There is a 5 that would be best startong and 5 who would be best finishing. |

because the 1st and 3rd quarters are the most important quarters of a basketball game. your premise is wrong. |

Gaining momentum from the beginning goes a long way. _________________ "I'm Magic before retirement, illest in the game." |

If one team has a 30 point lead in the 1st quarter, then the next 3 quarters will pretty much be garbage time unless that team blows it...trust me, if you ever watched enough basketball stuff like this happens. |
