Byron Scott says Lakers are "probably going to have to look for another" point guard to bolster depth.

Bring on Peyton Siva or Aaron Craft if he gets waived by the Dubs.

There aren't really any good ones available. I would wait to trade for one who falls out of the rotation with their team or their team is looking to shed salary

I do like Craft for his tenacity and Siva for his court awareness, however, neither has the explosion nor the big game experience of a Bo McCalebb. The dude knows how to score and is a pest on D. A few years ago, Pau raved about Bo when he destroyed Real madrid.

Siva, Craft are good prospects with limited upside, McCalebb is ready to go. At least he's familiar with Byron Scott's expectations, being a rook in New Orleans when Byron was there.

Alright you've mentioned McCalebb several times now. I'm gonna go look him up.

Any good youtube vids showing his skills? Maybe Mike AT LG can offer his scouting report on him

Lakers Will Apply For Sisabled Player Exception

Lakers will apply for disabled player exception following Nash news. If granted, exception would be worth roughly $4.85 million.

McCalebb would be my choice as well. Here's a video.

I would rather trade the ending contract to a team looking to shed salary.

Damn you guys. I was just going to say Bo McCalebb.

In fact, I thought I read something that he was in contract negotiations with Western Conference teams as we speak, errr, type.

He's kind of old though.

I see this more as a move for practice purposes rather than playing time.

Would rather have a vet in there mixing it than a rookie. He did workout with them before training camp, so don't be surprised if this is the move they make.

He's 29. I don't have expectations of signing a guy 4 days before the regular season that is young, has talent, and will be around in 5 years. We need a guy who could play now w/o the benefit of training camp. He's about as close as we're gonna get to a guy who can contribute right now at the PG spot.

That makes too much sense for this Front Office.

But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that no one is looking to help the Lakers.

Agreed. Just curious as to why he hasn't ever made it to this league by 29. We have little to lose and if is as good as advertised, he's got a fee more years in him still.

The Lakers can get the exception and still trade Nash. According to Larry Coon's FAQ section 25:

Quote:
Once granted, the exception expires when a player is acquired, when the disabled player is traded or returns to the team, or on March 10 of that season, whichever comes first.

This means they can either use the exception or trade him. They can pursue both simultaneously.

Can we split the disabled player exception between two players? Sign a PG like McCalebb and a backup SF like Quincy Miller.
