BS is a defense-first coach. He will pick some one with upside in defense. You can tell that from his love for Price who has been back up PG for life.

Trey Johnson just got waived by the Kings. At 6'5" he may be a nice defensive PG and a complement to Clarkson's more attacking style off the bench.

We have 15 players on our roster. We cut Roscoe Smith because we can't cut Ellington or Price while injured or we have to pay the full salary. Ellington was the guy on the bubble but because of that concussion we're pretty much forced to keep him till he's 100%. We can't make any roster moves till both are healthy.

I think it's absurd that the Lakers are worried about obtaining Ellington's 1M salary only to keep him on the roster and potentially prevent other moves from happening..... Ellington is not very good... actually he sucks arse.

I actually think our front court is serviceable although I do hope that Davis ends up getting the bulk of the minutes there. Here's how I would divvy up the minutes.

Davis (24)/Hill (20)/Sacre (4)
Boozer (24)/Randle (20)/Kelly (4)

I think we're actually set up to move Hill at the deadline as long as Sacre shows enough confidence and overall improvement to give 12-16 quality mpg. Hopefully Randle eats into some of Booze's minutes as the season goes on as well.

Barea is on course to be waived by the Wolves as soon as today and, at the latest, before Monday's 5 PM roster cutdown deadline

After clearing waivers, JJ Barea is then hoping to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks, who'll have to open a roster spot to make room for him

So.... the roster cutdown is today? doesn't that mean we have to cut Ellington to make move for another player?

Price wasn't going anywhere anyway....Ellington's injury is a potential problem (if we were going to cut him and if it keeps us from replacing him with another needed player).

You are assuming that having Ellington is stopping them from making a move. I don't think that is the case, I think there are just no moves they want to make now.

Not likely... we already have 3 PG's who are gonna split minutes.... adding another one will just cause some flair when players start whining about getting minutes....... I really hope the Lakers just accept Ellington's salary so we can bring someone better...

I don't think they have the cap space to claim him. And if he clears waivers, it looks like he wants to go back to Dallas.

What's the latest on Will Bynum? Will the C's cut him? Honestly, he's the only potential guard pick up out there that intrigues me.

I don't think Dallas is gonna get him... they are already gonna try finding minutes for Felton/Harris and I don't think Barea will be okay being the 3rd string PG.

I guess you have Clarkson penciled in as a PG which if fine but he's a way from contributing....

However, it may be the right thing to do, I mean hold off of signing another PG, that way Clarkson gets PT and some experience...so, I'd be ok with that as well...

I think the Lakers like the mix up with the young heads with the old heads. If the Lakers really do want to sign a PG. I'm sure Byron wants a veteran to back up Jeremy. Veteran who knows the Princeton offense is a plus. Maybe Gilbert Arenas, Baron Davis or Daniel Gibson? Those 3 knows the Princeton

Word is... Baron Davis was shooting around after the Lakers practice today.... but it didn't indicate that he would be replacing anybody.... it would have been cool to see B-Diddy in a Laker uniform though.
