Lakers Rumors: Quincy Miller a late roster addition?

The #Lakers, #Rockets, #Kings and #Grizzlies are amongst teams to expect interest in Quincy Miller.Hasnt officially been released yet.
@HPbasketball
So, apparently, to no one's surprise, @ShamsCharania was right, as Quincy Miller is tweeting about cleaning out his locker. @jmorton78
Miller is entering his third year in the league, assuming he makes a team. Drafted with the eighth pick in the second round, the Baylor product struggled to find minutes for the Nuggets, playing in only 59 games over his two seasons and scoring just 266 points, 4.5 points a contest.
However, he showed some flashes last season, putting up a 19-point, 6-rebound, 3-assist game against the Houston Rockets and managing a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds as well.
With the Lakers small forward role pretty barren, Miller could be a target. As is, the Lakers roster is at the maximum, but guard Wayne Ellington could be cut once he recovers from the concussion he received in a collision during the last preseason game Friday night.

21 year old 6'9-10 small forward that plays defense.
He in his career as of right now hasn't found his NBA groove.
In my opinion he seems to have improved somewhat going into this year, at least in some aspects from what I saw in pre-season, once more it's pre-season.
I don't know if he would be the spectacular impact player.
What I do know is what he does try defensively and is 21 and still has a lot of growing left to do in this league, and would be worth it if he did it here.
In the absence and unknown future of Xavier Henry and in the complete disappearance of Wayne Ellington now as well due to injury, it may be worth gambling on Miller as he is an actual three that plays defense.
No he is not better than Wesley Johnson. But he fits a current need for our bench.
He also would probably be available for cheap. Likely less than the vets min if we were to take a run at him.
If we land him it's important to understand what to expect..
Don't expect him to take the league by storm, but do expect that he could potentially fill a gap the Lakers currently don't have in the absence of X, a slasher to the basket that can occasionally hit three pointers.
So if given the choice, I would pick getting him over keeping Ellington, particularly while we're waiting to see if X is ever going to come back or be what he was.
Yes Byron would like his defense

I'm sure there's many people that followed him better than I have and I'd like to hear your thoughts.
And yes, if he makes the team, this video will be flooded with comments as the reason why

"Potentially" is the key word. He will likely be released and due to the appearance that the Lakers are short at SF, the conclusion is being made that the Lakers might be interested. I don't know a lot about him, but if he can shoot I say give him a look. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
I remember the Lakers were trying to trade up for either Quincy Miller or Perry Jones in that draft. I'm sure they'll be interested this time as well due to the need at SF
Just pay Ellington and cut him. If they really don't plan on keeping him and if there is someone you want, just do it. I would add that Lakers hopefully get the injury exemption, giving them some flexibility and potentially could add two players if for example Ellington is in fact released.
Team could use a PG or combo guard with ability to guard 1-2; Running some triangle & princeton sets will de-emphasize pure PG skills it is really defense and perimeter shooting that the Lakers need.

Waiver watch
The Nuggets reportedly plan to release 6-9 small forward Quincy Miller. Miller, a slender third-year pro, is the type of young, athletic player who could interest the Sixers.
Brown said the Sixers are “open” to improving the roster via all possible ways.

The Sixers will have the first shot at Miller, should he hit waivers, as they had the worst record in the NBA last season.

eff that poor excuse for a franchise. Effing Tankers!
Quincy Miller....a poor man's version of both Lamar Odom and Kevin Durant.
I really hope the lakers sign this guy. A small forward that can also be a stretch forward...
He dunks way more than those two, but they are better shooters.
He reminds me more of Keon Clark, who came off the bench for those successful Sacramento years. _________________ Creatures crawl in search of blood, To terrorize y'alls neighborhood.
