Eric Gordon's season thus far: 7.4 points, 1.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds. 27.7% shooting. Yes...27.7%. 2.89 PER.
$58M over 4 years. Money well spent. |

Basketball reasons! |
Anthony Davis was the Clippers pick that was part of the package. Although we didn't know it was going to be #1 at the time. So he more than compensates for taking on Gordon.
AD is the next great thing, but he's in the wrong city. We better go after him! And if we nab him, the "Basketball Reasons" would come full circle giving us closure. LOL!
My bad, just did some checking. The Clippers pick was Austin Rivers. Anyway, N.O. won the lotto probably for Basketball Reasons too (in order to sell the team to new owners). |

Unibrow is a great stat stuffer. Definitely worth picking up in fantasy. But in terms of leading a team to wins, he leaves much to be desired. Western Conference is tough. I still would take Aldridge, Griffin, Duncan, and ZBo over him in a must-win game. Ibaka could easily limit his production as well.
Unibrow's better than Dwight cause he avoids foul trouble, more agile, hits a better clip at the line. But he isn't a go to scorer. He needs a top tier play-making point guard (Jrue Holiday is a defensive, conservative PG) and/or stan van gundy type coaching for Unibrow to take a leap forward IMO.
Trying to remember the last playoff-successful big man who wasn't with a playmaking guard and an all-time great coach who got the big man touches the way he likes them.

Basketball reasons are why NO was in a position to draft Davis. I think they are happy. |

I'm not 100% sure on that. All those guys have their limitations, but I take your point. We are still in the honeymoon phase for AD where we marvel at his brilliance and potential rather than nitpicking. The time will come. But I do foresee him winning several MVPs.
Steph Curry has a greater shot at being MVP this season though and has been playing some defense of his own:

Hakeem.
Anyway, fantasy league? How about picking him up as your franchise cornerstone? I would not take any of the guys you name over AD long-term. And if you poll 30 GMS in the league if they had their pick of the litter to start a franchise, I bet the farm that AD's name is top 3 with Bron and Durant. Bron would probably be 3rd on that list due to his age now. Can't believe he's turning 30 in December. |

I'll take him over any player, playoffs included, not named LeBron or Tim. The kid is a beast. If I'm starting a team today, there's no other choice. |

I agree. He's the future.
I don't think he will be as good as Hakeem. But I see him being Durant level. He'll be arguably the best player in the league for 4-5 years but I doubt he wins a chip. Probably won't make the finals either. But until he plays with another all-star it's all speculation.
Just don't like how everyone thinks he's a lock for future MVP when there are a handfull of better first options playing his position in his conference. He has to leep-frog at least some of them (via wins) before I can give Brow the cred the media is now. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Flat out amazing. He's such a unique story with the growth spurt and skills. I'd love to see him in purple and gold in 2017! |

He's stuck playing with Tyreke and Gordon. In particular Gordon, a guy who can't do anything but try to score and isn't very good at it.
They're still 7-5 solely due to his play. Dude is a bonafide monster and he's 21!!!
It's funny, ESPN and the rest of the NBA media is too busy making excuses for everyone of Lebron's games (sickeningly I might add) that they're not even bothering to hype this dude up. |

And he'll hold that title for 2-3 years before Thon Maker takes it away from him. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

What a beast. I would sign up the Lakers for 3, 0 - 82 seasons for him.
He looks like a big from the 90's. All the skilled stiffs from the 2000's merged into a real big-man who can jump. |

Maker's likely going to be a star, but he wasn't even the best player on the court in the recent Adidas 64. (Jaylen Brown)
Maker has some development ahead of him, and Davis is already a Top 3 player in the NBA. |

Shaq and Hakeem's lovechild. He's finally the big that everyone has been waiting for. Add a bit more mass and develop a consistent back to the game basket. He's going to be very scary. |

I'd go more with Hakeem/KG. |

I suppose. AD seems to have more of a scoring prowess than KG. AD running the floor reminded me of the young Orlando Shaq. |

Right. That's why I went with the hybrid with Hakeem. KG could run the floor just like AD. Shaq ran the floor but his claim to fame was his indomitable power game...AD doesn't have that (and shouldn't given his ridiculous skiill set). |
