Nah ... but for one Peeler-to-KG-like forearm shiver would suffice.

Dumb. Kobe was being aggressive in a game where we had no chance. Looked like a fool. Would have made more sense when the game was in reach.

Something tells me this will be a violent season. With the Heat broken up, Paul Pierce setting the tone for his hatred of the younger NBA set, the Bulls coming back into play, Mello's Knicks needing to proving something, a viciously competitive Western conference, Kobe clawing his way back to Laker respectability, and the NBA Championship wide open, I believe there will be many small skirmishes and a few bench clearing brawls early this season. This is shaping up to be one of the better NBA seasons in years.

too many movies for this guy

these are NBA players, not bloods or crips

Exactly. People fold at the first sign of adversity now-a-days. Just like Dwight.

The refs handled that whole situation terribly.

Indeed. Didn't they call an elbowing foul on Howard originally?

Yes. Then they decided that Kobe had actually fouled Dwight (which he did several times) before Dwight elbowed Kobe (which he did several times). When the referees don't control the game by blowing whistle on contact, the players have to fend for themselves. The whole thing is avoided if they just call the foul when it happened. Granted, Dwight and Kobe are not fighters, but that would have escalated into a brawl with most players. Extremely poor officiating.

Would've liked to see Dwight try that with Metta.

As far as these refs, seems they are not calling things by the book, but are rather 'playing politics' with their calls

it was the most entertaining part of the game, why break it up? and if howard wants to get thrown out that's probably a good trade off. it's not like he was being ganged up upon.

I'd welcome Ron Ron with open arms. This wouldn't have gone down like this with Ron in the P&G. Everyone thinks twice before starting crap against Kobe when Ron's on the floor.

Put a D12 Jersey on the red Charmin Bear, shake em up and Viola... Instant Dwight Howard... Soft as hell and great for your bottom.

Or, he's lighting a fire under the newbies on the team to let them know that we won't go down without a fight (no pun intended).
Lakers want to be a tough team as they stated before the season started. No better way than their leader showing them the way.

Coward of all people calling someone else a (bleep). How freaking ironic. The guy's the biggest (bleep) made sack of garbage in the league today.

Trash talk is cool, but the problem is that most of the trash talk Kobe has been talking has been to players/teams that have been killing us.

Probably for hitting Howard's arm, and Howard got the flagrant for the elbow.

would MJ get along with Dwight? he would probably (bleep) slap him if they are teammates.

i don't even think MJ can get along with Shaq.

players like Scottie and Pau are rare commodities

MJ is as much of an "(bleep)" as Kobe, but the difference is that Media loves him.

New day, another game, hopefully we step up. I would not be surprised if we win. Preseason we had a back-back when we played the Suns, and almost won, if it wasn't for that dumb mistake. Lets GO LAKERS!!!!!!!
