No shooters, no defense, no inside scoring, no athletes. Just Kobe and even he can't make 30pt blowouts compelling after a while.
Cannot believe we are somehow worse than the 2004-2006 rosters. It's like we are trying to be bad! (I am starting to believe this) Kupchak should be ashamed of himself _________________ "My thirst for domination is fed only by the game. I refuse to get distracted by outside forces." - Kobe Bryant |

Swaggy P going down really hurt us but we should have never paid Hill 9M. Could have gotten better pieces. _________________

Wait, didn't Mitch say he had championship contender expectations this year? Wow. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Antonio Harvey, Reggie Jordan, Trevor Wilson and Tony Smith would probably be starters on this roster. |

And you haven't seen all of it, too many guys still out with injury. Sometimes you have to hit bottom to get to the top. And contrary to popular opinion here, it usually takes more than a season or two. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

That was a complete PR answer from the get-go, IMO. I doubt Mitch is THAT unbelievably inept that he actually thought this collection of cast offs would actually be competitive enough. |

We haven't been this bad since having Kareem play with Don Chaney, Lucious Allen, Cazzie Russell & Don Ford.
Knowing we were better before the trade & gave up Dave Myers, Junior Bridgeman, Elmore Smith & Brian Winters, remember that?
Maybe we should do it again trade Kobe? _________________ My Laker squad.

I wonder what we're gonna do at the trade deadline... it's gonna be a very busy time for Mitch... I'm sure. |

You really think Byron has any idea what to do with Ryan Kelly other than post him up or iso? Swaggy not being there I can buy. All you have to do roll the ball out on the floor for him to put up shots. |

Kobe is going to break down again from carrying the team on his back again......they need a 2nd option badly. |

I'm pretty sure this team wouldn't win the championship in that league. I would not be surprised if this team won single digit games this year. |

What are you talking about? It's a fantastic roster...to TANK. Byron is the perfect coach. No, I'm not advocating intentionally tanking, but it's sure looks like we'll compete with the Bucks and Sixers as the worst teams in the NBA. |

it's not "carrying" when you're down 20. so they'd be down 30 without him. does that really make a difference? you can't win with zero cohesion or team play. |

Honestly if I'm kobe I'm doing 1 of three things at the end of the season
1. Demand that the Laker FO get their (bleep) togther and bring in NBA caliber talent onto the roster, rather than a line up of D-league bound scrubs
2. Demand a trade onto a real contender to get that 6th ring
3. Retire and save himself from the stress and wear on his body from playing with this trash |

Damn sucks that Kobe will be playing his last years in a trash team, I mean the guy still has it offensively he can still contribute so much. Oh well |

We have to stop beating a dead horse, really. It's not going to change anything. It's quite obvious this is the worse Laker team the franchise has ever fielded. It was quite obvious when we were getting blasted in the preseason.
We need to accept it and hope we literally have the worst record in the NBA (very probably, btw) or acquire a superstar by the deadline (which is not going to happen)
Then we have to hope we land the number 1 pick. Emmanuel Mudiay or Jahlil Okafor will be huge for this franchise. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that Julius makes a full comeback, and returns a better player than he left.
Also, I don't see Kobe finishing this year on the Lakers. The way the Knicks looked today, they can definitely use Kobe's leadership and experience in that triangle offense... |

I can see Kobe warming up to the idea of playing for the Knicks and they have piece to make it work. For the Lakers, it is about helping Kobe find a spot he wants to go and for Kobe, it won't hurt his legacy that much. After all, Jordan played for the Wizard and people still remember him as a Bull Lifer. |

not true. they had freaking tons of money around what 28 million dollars of cap space and they wasted it away instead of putting pieces together
thats some BS right there. in that 28mil you get
Deng @10
Stephenson @9
Isiah Thomas @8 |
