It's their way of keeping the NBA on the front page in Late October. Bash Lakers/Kobe or slobber over Lebron. Those are the go to moves ESPN has when it comes to the NBA. Ratings galore, hits on their website. I stopped going to their NBA page years ago. They obviously have an agenda. Pushing Lebron to the front is not enough so you need to get all the fans/haters of the Lakers (happen to be the most popular team in the NBA regardless of w/l record) along to get a ratings bonanza |

Not saying I'd be "happy," but at least I can watch the Knicks with Melo/Kobe in this crazy arse scenario. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

More like he can't say anything. Especially with that contract. |
His no trade clause says differently _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

It opens up a ton of cap space. Kobe's contract is pathetic. I don't blame him for signing it I blame the lakers for offering it. |

Missed the point. The FO wouldn't consider trying to trade Kobe unless he requested it. And even still, they probably wouldn't do it. And Kobe couldn't say a thing about it after the big contract... media would skewer him for publicly demanding a trade. |

I, personally would. If we had asset to trade in order to get Kobe help than I would say no, but we have nothing and we are going nowhere. New York is not really a rival either. We would be letting Kobe finish his career with D Fish and Phil. We can "resign" him in 2 years just to retire him.
Kobe for Bargnani, JR Smith, Hardaway and this years # 1 pick would do just fine.
We would be able to use the cap space to try and sign Kawai, Klay or Deandre Jordan. Plus, we would almost guarantee ourselves of keeping our draft pick by increasing the odds it ends up a top 5 pick. |
Kobe has said he wants to retire with the longest tenure with one team in league history. So I doubt he would approve a trade, and to the Knicks of all teams. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

So trade Kobe to any team with high draft picks and contends.
This will allow Kobe to go after his ring.
And this will give Lakers a big start in rebuilding. |
