Just how good is our Front Office??
REALLY FRIGGIN GOOD!!
So this is how the Dodgers bullpen situation breaks down now from a salary standpoint. Howell — the lone holdover from the Colletti era — makes $4 million. Peralta makes $2.5 million, which is why the Rays mostly just gave him away. Nicasio is at $2.3 million, a price the Rockies didn’t want to shell out, which is why he the Dodgers got him for virtually nothing. Meanwhile, Hatcher, Rodriguez, Baez, Garcia, and Liberatore are all making roughly the league minimum of $500,000. The eight guys currently sitting in the Dodgers bullpen have combined MLB salaries of $11.3 million, or about 58 percent of what the team guaranteed Wilson for what ended up being 48 1/3 atrocious innings

Ned Colletti was a terrible GM. I don't know why the new ownership group let him stay on as GM when they bought the team. He should have been the first to go. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Kersh gives up three singles but they got two runs out of them. The night before, the Dodgers just miss the catch or hit the ball right at someone while the Giants made play after play and the balls they hit definitely had eyes.
This was the Giants that have now won three World Series. I don't know if it is Bochy or management or luck or a pact with the devil, but they play the game right--bunt singles for RBI, sacrifices, sacrifice fly's, double plays, key hits and solid defense.
Also, in watching Bumgarner against Kershaw, I'd say right now, Bumgarner is the better pitcher. He really had great command and puts the ball where he wants, missing where he won't get hurt--well for 6 innings anyway. |
whatever it is, we don't have it. That's the frustrating part. FML. |

It looks like the scheduler Gods are on our side--remember, this is a 12:45 start, so the old farts get the rest. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

So, I notice San Diego's ex second string catcher (great at framing . . .) is still batting 5th.
I have no idea who is framing better this year but I do know who has the better ERA against, Rtot, Fld%, caught stealing%, range factor, and fewer passed balls.

Well neither have been great but Grandal has been a little better offensively. Also while Kersh hasn't been himself, he's still pretty good and most of AJ's starts have been with him. I don't believe Ellis has to deal with the random Huff and Bolsinger starts. Also Kersh is one of the best guys in the league at keeping runners from stealing bases. Ellis doesn't have to deal with Anderson's slow leg kick of doom. |

Maybe this is a bad time to ask as this could get lost with the game going on but didn't the Time/Comcast play into the broadcasting of Dodger games? Is the failure of the merger a good thing or bad? _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Kershaw's ERA is a run higher than AJ's (and the staff's) as AJ caught the shutout. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Where are all of you watching the game? Ribeye, I know you live up north. I've been reduced to (bleep) streams - anyone have any better ideas? |

It is a bit bittersweet for me as I must watch the Giant's Broadcast. Kruk and Kipe, or however it is spelled, are really pretty good, but like every broadcaster in NoCal, total homers. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

How many games has AJ even played in? It seems like the shutout is a big factor in the numbers. I like AJ, but it's time to get young blood in there. It's not like he's an aging superstar. He's a journeyman catcher. Even with AJ's numbers in a small sample size, I think Grandal has been better overall. |

New blood? OK. Grandal? Not sold. The Dodgers got rid of two (1 1/2) liabilities up the middle, only to add one--a .171 vs. the .167 hitter. I get that there is only so much you can do, and the team, apparently, wasn't getting much of an offer for Kemp, and there were not a lot of catchers out there, but the Padres got Derek Norris . . . _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo"
