Nice player to have, for sure. Though at that price level, I'm not convinced he's worth it. His deal is 50% higher than Curry's, I believe.

Can't really depend on FA signings. Lakers need to compile picks, draft better, and hope they stay healthy. It will take time.

We didn't even get a chance to steal him, expectedly. So who can we realistically get next summer? Aaron Afflalo? Greg Monroe?

Curry gave GS a big discount because there were major, major health concerns with him at the time with the same ankle seemingly getting hurt every other week. Otherwise he would have been an easy max or near max contract.

There's still Kawhi. At least his team is balking on giving him a max deal. Cheap asses.

Virtually impossible when Kobe's part of the equation. That's just the reality of it. Doesn't mean it was gonna happen had the Lakers decided to part ways with Kobe.

Kawhi is your typical supporting star, without Parker and Duncan i doubt he's the same player and i think he knows that too, so most likely he'll re-up with Spurs

I forgot about those injury issues. I don't think of them at all when I see the guy play. Curry doesn't seem to be the type of guy to make an issue of this, and it's more than enough money for several lifetimes. But it'd be understandable if he were a bit unhappy. I still view Klay as inconsistent, and he wasn't particularly visible in those final games vs. the Clips last year.

Just like James Harden would only give Houston 17 ppg right?

Kwi will put up prime Marion numbers outside the Spurs' system. As a two way player, I'll take that for a 17m average on the lifetime of a contract any day of the week.

I don't understand the market right now. Ricky Freaking Rubio just got 4 years/$56M. I guess $14M is the new MLE.

If I could I'd give him more than what's allowable under the rookie max. He's that good to me.

I'd take Aaron Afflalo in a heartbeat over any SG we have today.

Interesting targets for the Lakers in 2015:

"Realistic": Afflalo and Jackson for $22m combined.

Shoot for the stars: Max offer to Kahwai (will be matched).

I think the big men like MGasol, LMA, DJordan, Asik will all be off the table.

Wow, those are strong words when our current SG is Kobe Bryant.

Yes, they are strong words. I openly disagreed with the re-signing of Kobe for league-leading monies. Wasteful. Craziness,

No disrespect meant to our Laker legend, but he's a pastlegend and he's been breaking down. Afflalo has a six year future before he's 33 years old. Kobe is three years past that, 36 y/o today.

We're supposed to be watching a the team smartly rebuild, not suffering an overpayment for his diminishing returns. Kobe's been a great one, but those days - of his being part of the Laker successes - are behind us.

I see him getting multiple max offers, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave SA since Duncan will be retiring soon.

Kobe is showing he is still a top 10 player in the league, Afflalo isn't.

A 36 yr old Kobe still makes moves that Afflalo will never be able to make in his whole life.

Besides, some of your native fans just don't undersand what KB means for LAL internationally marketing wise.
