Fat Barkley never won a title, and Kenny was nothing but a role player who rode Hakeem to titles.

Let that sink in.

Come on. They get paid to entertain. Nothing they did was so badm or different than what EVERY sports talk show does. They say things to get a reaction and to try and be funny.

They did make fun of everyone. "Have to be in a coma to lose to the Knicks." "Can you be called the King and be on a losing team?"

I agree with what an earlier poster said, they already had all their jokes scripted. Probably worked on them all night, and damn it, they were going to say it no matter what.

Yes, they are paid to entertain and I think they are mostly speaking off the cuff instead of it being scripted. It's basically a roast and they make fun of each other. The highlight was a comparison of Barkley and Balmer's dancing styles.

I don't why anyone would take what Charles and Kenny say on TNT seriously. They treat analysis like barbershop talk. Which is the appeal of their show.

Lol, clearly these guys are clowning around. Our team sucks, we're a laughingstock. Why get mad?

The way they were covering and announcing the game though, it did feel like Kobe's last game or something. Kobe and Lebron were acting like they'd never play against each other again...

I thought it was more funny that LeBron was getting lumped in with Kobe as being on his way out.

Based on the broadcast you'd think Bron was 36 himself.

they can't see kobe's level.

These are two guys that sit back and try to be 'hip' with the current breed of players.

I would have loved to have seen kobe in his prime play in their era.. Our 2000s team would of taken a poop on any of their teams. Screw them. stinkin haters!!

I actually enjoyed watching last nights game. Just an incredible game from Kobe all around. I have been questionable of Kobe's play this year but honestly last night just hit me that we are watching one of the greatest to ever play. Yes, there will be a lot of band nights, but to have these moments where Kobe still shows up and reminds us why he was one of the greatest to ever play the game are priceless.

Geez, all of sudden we're offended by Kenny and Charles? They're paid to entertain.

Before people get all pissy, last time I checked, we are 12 - 28, last in the Pacific division. We SUCK this year and Kobe is part of that suckage.

Chuck has made some comments recently that have me waiting in anticipation for his ban from the media. Ferguson, Mike Brown, Travon Martin, his usage of the N word...I can't wait till it's his turn to suffer!!!!!!!

And I watched the disrespect of Kobe last night and it pissed me off. Especially coming from someone who never got his fat ass in shape and never won a damn thing!!!

No one is safe on the national networks, they attack everyone because the other 29 fanbases will find it funny. I wouldn't rely on them to show the current lakers a ton of respect but there is still Kevin Ding, Mason and Irelanld, Mark Jackson, Roland Lazenby, and Stephen A Smith if you just want good vibes.

I'm happy for you yinoma.
But not to happy for the rest of us. Hate seeing Kobe physically limited like he is.
Still hope Mamba bounces back and plays better and better over the next season and a half.

Nah, I ate that (bleep) last week. Luckily I had a recipe from a relative who is always runnin' his mouth, that and some tobasco. Was a bit dry, but not bad at all. Washed it down with Diet Coke and then hit the gym.

it's all good man. I genuinely hoped I would be wrong and it's sad to see a great like him struggle. I sincerely hope he has one more season left in the tank next year and the team can put up a semi respectable team.

And judging by this thread, what they did worked.

I want to see kobe finish strong too. And hopefully with a better team around him. Don't want to see him go out like this.

That was what Ramona tried to sell yesterday, that Kobe will be all better next season. I don't see it, he will be older and more brittle. Likely another 60 game season for him.

Hey, Randle come in and is the player we hope he will be, we get lucky in the draft and get a stud, make some good signings in the offseason and Kobe gets his mojo back for one more run at a chip. I didn't see the game, but I saw some of the highlights and he looked good on that dunk as well as that ridiculous pass of of Asik to himself.
