Quote: | WATCH: Russell Westbrook surprises single mother by giving her the car he won as All-Star MVP
When Russell Westbrook was named MVP of the 2015 All-Star game following his 41-point performance, he didn’t just get to take home that shiny commemorative trophy.
The MVP winner also gets a new car courtesy of Kia, one of the NBA’s sponsors.
But young millionaires tend to be a little bit flashier with their automotive choices, which means the cars won are usually given away or donated to a worthy cause.
Westbrook used the opportunity to give his car to a single mother in the Oklahoma City community, in what was a kind, generous and touching gesture.
Watch how it all happened by checking out the video clip above. |

Great gesture. But I hope she can handle the taxes on the gift of the $20K vehicle, registration and insurance for a year. That could put her in a big time hole. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

Maybe it's exempted as a one-time, lifetime gift? If not, I'm sure RW or the Thunder will offset the harm ...

Either way, this is a cool move by an NBA superstar ... in contrast to the marketing-driven community engagement and giving B.S. that Roger Goodell and Adam Silver cram down our collective throats every GD month in their respective seasons ... |

It looks like it will be close but she'll probably be on the hook for something. OTOH, depending on her situation, and the EIC, she will probably be OK. And I have no doubt RW would come out of pocket on the sly for a little more slice.
I agree that it was a fine gesture and true charity at it's best. RW is a classy guy and aside from his ridiculous fashion sense, I can't say anything bad about him. And I do think he's the best player in the league. _________________ “It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.”

Oh, I want that just to hear the collective wail from the Team-ball Illuminati. 10 more years motherfudders!
Anyways, I don't know what it is about these videos but I become a faucet. Uncontrollable. Gonna go punch a wall. |

I know I will regret asking...
What or who are the Team-ball Illuminati? |

Honestly the whole point is to have Kia again in the news, for free, _________________ -----------------------------------------------------
