Amazing how one great game can make people completely ignore a players career.

it's not one great game.
it's one amazing game, but a lot of good games since they've signed him.

My biggest concern for FA this summer is mortgaging our future in a vain attempt to become relevant now. Kobe recruiting guys like Rondo & Love, and the FO needing to have marquee names scares the hell out of me.

Can you imagine if we signed Love and then did a S&T with our top 5 for Rondo? Nightmare scenario IMO

So we're S&T'ing to ourselves then?

Should be standard practice offering a 2nd year team option to guys who are out of the league. Leverage the hell out of these kinds of deals.

2 year deal has its problems.
unless the heat have cap room in 3 years, it's pretty much guaranteed they won't be able to keep whiteside.
still a great asset, can move him perhaps next year, but 2 years has its issues...

But they do have the cap space.

With Kemba Walker undergoing surgery on his left knee, would the Hornets possibly be a place where we can dump Lin?

I don't know what they have to give up but if they have young players/picks...that would be a nice little dream come true

I think there are cheaper alternatives than Lin. Sessions. Cole. Chalmers. Farmar. Nate Robinson. Pirgiono. I don't think Lin is the natural top option.

But to be fair:

@brosales12: Sessions is a 8.78 PER guy this year, Cole at 9.92 PER. For all the (justified and unjustified) crap Lin's gotten, still at 14.35 PER.

But r much much cheaper. Sessions is grtting paid 1.67 or so. Cole or 3 i think

So scrub Lin is getting prorated sal at 8.3.

Atleast i would go with other options

Lin would help out a team in need of a PG like Charlotte or Detroit more than Cole or Sessions would. He is also an expiring contract so whoever gets him could save some $.

1. Draft D'Angelo Russell with our Top 4 pick.
2. Package HOU's 1st rd pick and LAL 2nd rd pick for a pick in the 15-18 range to draft Cauley-Stein.
3. Sign Tyson Chandler on a 1 or 2yr/deal at ~12M per, retires a Laker and in his hometown.
4. Sign DeMarre Carroll on a 3yr/22M deal.
5. Sign Tayshaun Prince on a 1 or 2yr/vet min deal, retires a Laker and in his hometown.

2015
Russell (4.5)/Price (1)/Clarkson (.9)
Bryant (25)/Ellington (1.2)
Carroll (7)/Young (5.2)/Prince (1.5)
Randle (3.2)/Kelly (1.7)/Black (.5)
Chandler (12)/Cauley-Stein (2.5)

= $66.2M

2016 core of Russell, Durant, Randle, and possibly Noah, or dare I say... Dwight?

Fire him after next season, start 2016 with the coach of Durant's choice. Or buy out Kevin Ollie, Spoelstra, or Carlisle.

Who knows. Maybe he drops with concerns of having the Sickle Cell trait?

Another option would be to package Jordan Hill $9M) and the HOU pick to CHA for Marvin Williams ($7M expiring next year) and its low-end lottery pick, who could then turn into a sign-and-trade for DeMarre Carroll this offseason...

A 28.10 PER. Averaging 17/14 with almost 6 blocks(!!!) per 36 minutes.

Yeah, one great game. RIP eye-roll emoticon.

He's too good of a prospect to fall out of the top 10 even with the Sickle Cell trait. He's the Andre Drummond of this draft.

Completely agree. I believe we have something similar with Tarik Black, which was also a good move.

When you have a player like Hassan, he's basically begging to join a team. I don't get why more teams don't do this.

It's extremely common now, teams just missed on Hassan is all. I'm sure tons of teams had watched him and tried him out.

I think he most likely will go top 10, but you never know. Players do fall in the draft sometimes.

I don't like most of the ufas this summer. I think finding a center through free agency or draft won't be a problem since they are in abundance this summer. However a solid 3 is crucial. I hope we try for jimmy butler, kawaii, but most likely they get matched. jeff green then becomes my prime target. He's an ufa. With marc being an ufa, if they want to keep him they will have to pay the man.

jeff green is essentially memphis sixth man, although right now he's starting due to tony Allens injury. Before allen got hurt, green was coming off the bench. I find it plausible green does not stay in Memphis because they won't pay him enough and he is not even starting.

Green can play the 2, 3, or 4 position. Can defend, create, and/or role play. Importantly, he's also good friends with durant.

Come 2016, we hire kevin ollie, then have green, randle, hopefully this year's top 5 draft pick, and a developed clarkson. I think that could entice durant.

Also danny green would be a good player to go after imo.

6th man or 4th/5th option is what Jeff Green SHOULD be. His responsibilities were above his ability in Boston. My concern bringing him here would be a repeat of that mistake.

Just got through browsing the Bucks forums on RealGM again. Take it for what it's worth but their fans are not high on Knight. They don't really care to extend him (max they want to do is $10M/yr). They'd rather see him gone or in a 6th man roll off the bench. They want Giannis more involved in running the O and more shots for Parker when he comes back. Supposedly he's been moved off ball in the 2nd half of the last couple games.

I hope their FO feels the same. I think he fits better in what we're trying to do. He's not a true PG at all, he's a combo guard like most others today. However I think he has enough laymaking to where he and Randle can run the O (as Randle develops). His sharpshooting will be valuable and he's still only 23 so his decision making has time to improve.

FWIW they are extremely high on Middleton and most want to extend him at $24M/3yrs.
