He's like Nick Young minus the charisma, consistent 3 point shot and average defense. I remember when people in this thread and on this board claimed he was better than Austin Rivers.
Jordan " 3's are easy for me" Clarkson everyone. |

You should probably not reference the olden days on this board the day that you joined. |

Not a good night for Jordan tonight, but to keep things in perspective he came into the game averaging over 21 points in the past five games. And while he was getting killed by fans for his first half 0-fer he was leading the team with 4 assists. |

He's a 6th man starting. After this block of games wish we saw more of this earlier once we hit our slide in November . Tough to evaluate when losing is king. |

Luke not holding back today
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters
Luke said he wants Jordan Clarkson to work on "impacting the game in a positive way somewhere else," when he's having an off shooting night.
Luke cont. on JC: "He's too good of an athlete....Get into someone on defense, make some steals, some passes, take a charge, do something."

Or get some rebounds, our bigs needed some help last game.
JC plays with energy night in and night out (can't say the same for the rest of our young core). He just has to channel it to ways that will be helpful to our team. |

Does anybody still remember the game earlier on in the year, where we were up pretty big and in total control, until JC came in and within minutes and single handily caused like a 10 point swing with turnovers, stupid shots, and fouls? It's been a while since I was so pissed off at a player. Luke called a timeout and didn't even bench him. Imagine if D'Angelo did the same thing, he probably would've been sent home for the next game |

If he can ever get his three pointer to a consistently good level he will be really tough to handle. He seems to be able to get to the rim at will. |

Nowadays, if your not a lead guard or center, you have to be a 3 & D guy. Other skills are bonus, but if you're not a threat on the perimeter your man is clogging up the lane and double-teaming your teammates. If you give up more points than you contribute then you're hurting the team.
JC has 1/2 of one of those skills at the moment and he isn't good enough to put the ball in his hands as a lead guard. |

Deng: 51.4%, 31.5%
eFG%: without Clarkson, with Clarkson (edit: thanks, LakersRGolden)
This was absolutely staggering to me. So apparently when Deng plays next to Clarkson, he's (bleep) garbage. Otherwise, he's actually very competent on the offensive end.
Deng is a guy who, especially at the 3, needs everything to be spoonfed to him. So we can see the clear detriment of Clarkson's ISO tendencies on his numbers. Which makes sense. Clarkson's style of offense is good for him and Lou and for cleanup bigs like Tarik (to a lesser extent Nance). But a guy like Deng? Yeesh.
This is just mindblowing to me because it suggests we might have gotten (close to) the Deng we expected if we just never let Deng play with Clarkson.
