Alright, here's his numbers when he plays 24 MPG or more
Clarkson's stats games where he's played 24 MPG or over this season
24/0/5
19/4/5
18/5/2
25/3/3
20/6/5
18/3/1
15/2/3
17/8/5
21/6/8
12/3/4
22/5/6
11/1/4
17/6/7
22/4/2
20/5/8
20/2/4
18/2/2
19/3/4
33/7/7
29/6/10
Clarkson is a Lou Will potential Super 6th man that is only 27 years old and on a bargain of a contract for his production when he's actually played that role on a consistent basis.
Deal with it. Just cause some of ya'll wanted to act like he was some scrub cause he had 3 bad games when his minutes were being fluctuated doesn't mean you try to take credit now when he shows what he can do when he gets those minutes at both the 1 AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THE 2 because KCP is out.
Like I said, Clarkson's greatest value on this team is as a Super 6th man and you'd be hard pressed to find better production for his contract from a guy willing to come off the bench. |
it's specially intriguing why there are butthurt individuals when he plays well.. And then they automatically want to trade him, nonetheless.
LOL |
Cause they were sure he'd stay in scrub land. But when he's gotten the opportunities he shows how his value really can be.
Super 6th man playing that 24-28 to 30 MPG is a lot better than when Luke was fluctuating his minutes.
We got some gems on this team, and we should be playing them more, strictly because if Clarkson puts up these numbers off the bench at a good 24-298 MPG , and Randle is putting up near 20/10 in 30-33 MPG then you have a much easier sell on the "young future" of the team, ESPECIALLY when you consider the strides Kuzma and Ingram have made and Ball is making.
if I'm the Lakers I'm trying to move KCP so that we can start Hart full time and thus make Clarkson the defacto Super 6th man that comes off the bench playing both the 1 and the 2, next to Caruso or whomever.
If anything these last few games should show that Starting 4 and 6th man, aren't the positions we should be looking at replacing. backup 3, starting 2 and starting 5 should be the priorities of 'upgrade'. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Hope they don't jump the gun and trade him until they see what happens in the Summer. |

He had such a good start to the season. Glad to see him return to that and put up consecutive excellent games after that slump. |

This version of JC is an all star.
I don't think he can keep this impact up.
Less production but more consistency would be awesome. |

Off-ball JC is really good. When he's paired with a distributor like Caruso and doesn't have to handle the ball much, he's much more effective. He's taking less 3s off the dribble. When JC shoots set shots, he makes a lot more of them. I hope Luke and JC realizes this. |

I'm going to say Luke saw it before any of us. I was in awe really. Clarkson and Ball work even better together. |

2 Game Win Streak sample would be the #1 Offensive and #5 Defensive Rating in the league.....clearly playing at an elite level as team on both sides of the ball. |

Was coming in to say Jordan had a great game. I then saw all the egos flying around and had to take cover and retreat.

I am all for JC getting to spread his wings on another team. He can flourish in another system.
Back to trading him...... I doubt the FO trades him before the summer. Keep in mind that Lou Will was traded last year because he was taking up minutes that would otherwise go to the young players. That is not the case for JC. He is one of the young players.
The only way FO trades him is if there is an excellent deal available. Something like Avery Bradly, or part of a trade to get PG13 or Cousins.
Like I said before, this is a business and trading him without a commitment from 2 max players is bad business....even if you are an orange skined president with bad hair. |

Yup! Which is why the FO should be trying hard to sell high right now on JC. His minimal Bball IQ will rear its ugly head again soon when we play better teams. |

There's a reason JC and JR do well when the other starters are out. The question becomes can they continue to play this type of ball in a system and they are 3rd or 4th options? That's the big $$ question. |

If there's a desperate team out there hoping to improve their roster to make a deep playoff run who we can snatch a future 1st rounder + expiring from, in exchange of JC, Zubac and a 2nd rounder - I say we go and do it. A future asset + cap flexibility for JC isn't a bad deal.
We won't get as much value from him if we wait till the summer. Even if we end up without signing any of the max free agents, we can just sign guys like Rodney Hood, Tyreke Evans or Gerald Green, who are all similar players as JC, to short term deals close to what JC would be making.
The really big IF though, is if any team, desperate or not, would be willing to part with a 1st round pick for JC. |
