Is it because they're playing on the Team USA Select team?

For JC I'd imagine its free agency?

Man, that would have been nice for JC/Randle to establish some chemistry with DLO/Ingram/Nance, etc.

It used to be you could only play twice in the SPL I thought. Have the rules changed?

You're thinking about DLeague assignments, which can only be done during a player's first two years.

Anyone can play in SPL.

JR is vacationing in Greece/Europe with his fiancee.

PS: They were officially engaged a day ago.

I wish Randle wouldn't skip on this. He really needs work on the mental aspect of the game and only repetitions help with that. He is the most raw of the of the bunch.

3rd year players usually don't play in summer leagues.

What is the max Jordan can get from another team? I'm sure we would match any offer, but just wondering how much it would take. There are a few teams that might try to sign him away from us this summer. I think now that the Knicks have Rose, they no longer are interested.

Interview: Jordan Clarkson Shares Love Of Call Of Duty, Jordan Retros And Playing For The Philippines

Quote:
On his current status with Gilas Pilipinas

Right now it’s just working with FIBA and hopefully everything goes through. Hopefully we’ll be able to get through the qualifier (which takes place in Manila) so that I can represent the country in Rio this summer. We hope all that stuff works out.

I think it's something like 4 yrs/ $56M, but if the Lakers match it's poison pill ($5M the first 2 years, about $22M the last 2).

Either way JC is about to get paid this summer.

If we do that we better snatch up all the the FAs we can get our hands on this year and the next before his huge hit cap goes into effect.

2018 is also when Randle's contract ends. If he improves the way we'd like, he'll absolutely also be getting a payday (unless we give the QO, but then he's UFA in 2019).

So yeah, absolutely, 2016 and 2017 are the times to get free agents. That does kill the Paul George to LA in 2018 dreams, but the hope is by 2018 Ingram makes that hurt less.

Great sign that Clarkson went to the Ingram post-workout dinner with Russell, Randle, Nance, and Anthony Brown - sure doesn't look like he's leaving in (restricted) free agency!

Thanks tox! That's pretty steep. I'm hoping he and the Lakers can work something out. He still has things in his game he needs to work on to improve. I think Luke can help bring his game up to the next level in this new system.

The only way he would leave is if the Lakers didn't want him, we control that. And of course we want to keep him.

If Clarkson pursues an offer sheet the most he gets next season is roughly $5 million. Lakers will offer more. https://twitter.com/sportsgeek3/status/747224156392071168

I just don't think Randle likes summer league. nothing but criticism for him last year there.

I'd rather Randle continue to work on his jumpshot and conditioning. If you're playing for summer league you can't really practice as much as you want at the same time.
