Wasn't a big fan of a couple of his plays tonight, but overall played well. Definitely had a way better outing than KCP

It was 1 game but seemingly most people have already concluded that he can't improve, can't shoot, and has no meaningful value on this squad.

Crickets are louder than critics so far.

What are fans expecting? I wonder how other teams bench players are.

I missed Dave

Yep. A couple good kick outs doesn't make a good decision maker. Thought he forced a couple shots *typical* that happened to drop.

I am new to this forum but I have been a Laker fan for quite a while (30 years).

I want to be constructive instead of destructive when it comes reviewing JC's performance. I see a lot of posters don't like him.

Instead of bashing JC every game, regardless of his performance, why don't we do a game by game scoring between the shooting guards on the Lakers. Since I am came up with this concept, I get to be the final judge.

The shooting guards are JC, KCP, VBlue, Hart

Pre-season with Wolves:
Best SG on team: JC

Ongoing Score:
JC 1
KCP 0
VBlue 0
Hart 0

I will keep posting this same way on this thread the whole year.

I will do my Dave20 impersonation for the day...

Once again the Lakers let down Jordan Clarkson. He was clearly the best player on the court. If you can't see that then you are blind as a bat. Why is he not starting. KCP? What does that stand for? Kaka Crap Poop? If they just kept my boy Jordan at point guard from the start and drafted Okafor we would have never been in this mess.

Good playmaking by him today. Think expecting him to be instant offense 6th man is unreasonable. He's not that type of scorer.

I will give him some time and than judge him. First 10-16 games to see if he can or cannot play. if not bye bye at the trade deadline.

I would say trade him, when he still has some value. I think we have seen the top of his ceiling and he has been hovering around there the recent few seasons. He can be the guy who gives you around 15 points a game off the bench, while not doing it in an efficient way. We might better off get some draft picks/ cash out from him.

hot and cold.

But I think it's safe to say by this point Clarkson is who he'll be. Now the decision becomes whether they can maximize what he is and how much it helps the team.

Yeah. I don't think he actively hurts a team, but he's not a major game changer either. He will be a cap casualty. The question is whether it's him or Jules.

if the cap projections continue to decrease.....it likely will be both of them if the FO can still pull off Lebron and PG-13.

Maybe. I'm sure they'd consider 2 future 1sts to unload Deng, then you can theoretically keep 1 of them.

Not much playing time for JC last night. Some good plays and then some questionable plays. When his shot isn't falling, he will get outplayed.

KCP was unquestionably better than JC last night.

Ongoing Score:
JC 1
KCP 1
VBlue 0
Hart 0

As a creator, he does well running the PNR, which is where he thrived during his rookie year. I like Ennis running the 2nd unit, but I think Luke should make it a point to give JC opportunities to run the PNR because good things usually happen out of this action.

Last night's game was difficult to review as far as which SG had the best game.

KCP made his 3's but clanked a few easy ones. Other than the 3's he had a below average shooting night. He moved his feet well and played average defense but it didn't matter because we got killed anyways.

JC had an average game. Didn't shoot well from the outside but took it to the hole a lot and got fouled a lot (which is good). I believe that was one of the complaints about him last year....avoiding contact when driving to the basket. I guess he improved that part of his game. Nothing else to point out.

Hart got some PT. Didn't do so well the first half but got better as the game went on. But it was against 3rd stringers.

Again...hard to evaluate this one. But since this post is in a JC thread, I suppose I can give this one to JC.

Ongoing Score:
JC 2
KCP 1
VBlue 0
Hart 0

JC's inability to defend and to shoot the 3 consistently makes him useless on this team. KCP can at least defend...kind of.

Hart should the the SG going forward. But unfortunately, they'll have to feature JC to increase his trade value.

JC has been playing pretty decently this preseason.

He is neither a reason for success or failure.
