It's not his nature but he has good passing instincts. He could rack up assists if he focused on it

This is crazy, I think I am in a state of euphoria. Are you telling me we have a superstar PG in the making, a player the Lakers took in the 2nd round and the Lakers are going to get a potential superstar center to boot?

Stranger things have happened before.

Ben Wallace is a hall of famer despite not even being drafted.

So, what is Clarkson going to end up being? Can he be a Kyle Lowry for this team? Can he be a starting PG on a title contender?

I don't know how JC will end up, but I see more of a Devin Harris/Monte/TP hyprid. And yes, I do think he's a starting caliber PG in the NBA.

Next year will be a transition for Clarkson, and his stats probably won't be as good, but hopefully we will have more wind to show for it. Next year Clarkson should have:

Kobe An aging superstar but a reliable shooter, no double teaming Clarkson next year.

Hopefully a better shooting and offensive SF Middleton/Carroll/ someone not named Wes Johnson.

Randle at PF instead of Boozer. Another guy who can create off the dribble.

Okafor or Towns and maybe Davis back at center.

So next year you might see Clarkson as a 12-15 point guy with maybe 6-7 assists and tough PG defense.

Clarkson will average double digit assists. BOOK IT!

He will actually have a real team to play with next season.

I like Clarkson a lot, but there' no way he's averaging double digits. It's hard for even the best of playmakers to hit 10 asst/game. I suspect JC hitting around the 6-8 for most of his career. And that's pretty damn good considering he's only been playing PG since his last year in college.

LOL, people who don't like Randle being compared to Lebron or Barkley or other HOF should read this and have it sink in. Even our GM makes comparisons just to illustrate potential.

Clarkson had a great season, pretty good games against elite competition

Randle had a zero point game

Oh please. Did Randle play against legit NBA competition or not? In all honesty he could play in a park and comparisons could be made because not everyone takes them 100% seriously. Mitch doesn't, and normal people don't.

KobeReloaded is gonna be furious when he reads this.

His Rondo dream is dead.

He's going to break something once he hears about Byron comparing Julius to Blake.

he should be happy about it lol

I would be ECSTATIC if Clarkson developed into a 15/7 PG with above average defense this summer. He's very close already. We'd be able to lock him up this summer for a reasonable 4/5 year deal right as the new CBA kicks in. It would be fantastic to finally have our PG spot settled for the future while Randle and our #2 pick develop.

Yeah, Clarkson has a really good core. He's always good size calves, though. He definitely looks bigger, though.

Here's an old article from "the other side" on the genius of selling the 46th pick (Jordan Clarkson):

Quote:
Morning tip: Kudos to Wizards for selling 2nd-round pick

Jordan Clarkson, the No. 46 draft pick by the Wizards which was sold to the Los Angeles Lakers, is back and forth to the D-League and getting just spot minutes for one of the NBA's worst teams.

The initial deal was made on draft night in June, when the Wizards sold the slot for almost $2 million rather than clogging up their roster with a longshot player who ate up salary-cap space....

How does this move, or non-move, look now? And how ridiculous was the knee-jerk reaction, and rush to judgment that's typical today, about the front office bypassing the pick without seeing the big picture? Or deriding owner Ted Leonsis for having the nerve to make a buck on it as if giving it away for free would've been better? The Wizards' front office knew what it was doing, what options were on the table, the salary-cap situation and how much the upcoming moves would cost to stay below the luxury tax.
