Gotta ask Lin or Bazemore?

Now before you answer, please understand the context of the question. We know the FO made that lin deal to get lin's Ex K. so i'm not asking for a business answer. Just asking who would be better for our team?

I know baze was not a legit pg. but we were actually trying to groom him for a sudo PG/SG role.

Lin was worth the risk (especially with the 1st, 2nd rounder attached). He presented a business decision and had a contract that can be re-packaged if necessary, or the hope was he would be a long-term PG for the Lakers.

it's not lin vs Bazemore. more like Bazemore (2 mil) vs Ellington/Price (2 mil) from the money standpoint. Choosing players always has to do with money.

Without money involved. Bazemore would help this team more than Ellington would.

I know Lin has played poorly in about 5-6 out of the first ten games, but let's pump the brakes on the knee jerking a little bit. If it's just going by player and not money, Lin easily. But I'd take any competent PG making the minimum than Lin at 8 million. Hell, even if Bazemore isn't a competent PG, I'd still take him over Lin with when taking into account salaries.

But Lin will get it together and average decent stats. Team will still suck though

I always thought Bazemore had a good upside. I was shocked we didn't keep him.

Same here. Kid had length, was active on defense, and had some Kobe attitude in him.

Morey's friend was asking 2 1st and we let him loose by just getting 1 pick

i would have asked 1 of DMO, Capella, Cannon with the 1st

^^this is exactly what i saw. the reason we didnt keep him is because we had our eyes on lin(contract), we also had our eye on clarkson.

so you're thinking, baze was somewhat a SG but he wasnt really 6'5. more like 6'3 or 6'4 with long arms and some athleticism. but when we had him playing pg. he didnt look horribble. put it this way. he was as good of a floor general as price. i like what price is. spark plug defender. so i'm not knocking price just stating the facts. What i liked about baze is that he was very aggressive and he was a triple threat. he would shoot the 3, he would penetrate and he would make a decent pass if need be. all while playing solid defense on PG's and SG's.

i could make this clarkson vs baze. but we want clark because he's taller/longer. but defensively. who gets destroyed on the block by larger sg's? clarkson. i dont recall anyone just man handling baze like that even when they were bigger then him.

Bazemore has been awful this year. Another D'Antoni special.

he's rusty, he aint play all summer/training camp cuz he tore his foot.

But, OP, Baze isn't a PG, he's not a combo guard, he's a SG. so i wouldn't compare him to Lin. Baze should have been priority over Wes and X.

Lin came with a pick. Better question is Bazemore or X.

Agreed. I still believe in Lin but he needs a coach that will allow him to play to his strengths. Does the FO still have MDA's number?

Bazemore has more talent than Sefolosha; I'm really questioning Budenholzer's rotations when he plays Sefo and Mike Scott over a two-way player like Baze.

I would have easily kept Baze over Xavier. More general talent from Baze, but I don't know if he kept Xavier because he played a whole season with us rather than half a season.

Yeah I agree- to be fair, I also wanted Baze over both X and Wes. I think they missed out on him only because Baze wasn't willing to wait for the FA domino to drop while X and Wes were (or prob because they had no choice).

... And he got a longer guaranteed contract.

Lin is a proven 3 yr of 12/5 (starting NBA PG or borderline if argued), Bazemore is like a Xavier Henry/Chris Douglas Roberts (min salary player aka you could find them from D league or overseas if need to)

Lin... Easy pick

hard to say both of them had their best stats that overinflate their value with the Mike D antoni system, Bazemore looked no better than Price or Clarkson yesterday and Lin actually can contribute to a team in more ways than Bazemore can when he has his head on straight

This really shouldn't even be a question unless you put it here so that people can discover more about themselves to test if your opinions are objective or if you're just a hater.
