The mismatch no one is talking about - Carlisle vs. Scott.

Huh? The December schedule is easier than November's....

We play Detroit, Wizards, Celtics, Pelicans, Kings twice, Timberwolves, Pacers, OKC (who may not have Russ and KD) , That's our schedule up to December 23rd. Right there the best team we'd be playing would be the Kings, Pelicans, Wizards who are playing well but are all beatable. November's schedule thus far has been way more brutal.

After December 23rd the last week closes with some tough games but with Warriors, Bulls, Mavs, Suns, and Nuggets. Even with that being the tough stretch - the Warriors are the only team I'd be THAT scared of.

The answer may be Dirk himself. See how his ankle feels after last night. He came back in, but ankles can swell up the next day.

You are right... it would be great if we ride momentum heading into the new year.... I think we can be something like 20-11 by next month.

Haha you're an optimist. Of course that would be awesome, but I'm going to keep my expectations a bit more realistic. We won two in a row but to go 18-2 in the next 20 games is very unlikely. That's impressive even for the best team in the league. I'd be really impressed if we go 15-5 to put us at 17-14. Hopefully you're right, but I'd take the 17-14 too. We still have a lot of problems on defense and offense. We also have to stay healthy.

Honestly... I don't care what the Lakers record is... I just wanna see some freaking playoff Lakers basketball in April/May.... so I will take whatever gives as long as we are somehow staying afloat.

If Dirk plays we will lose, Dallas has the best offense in the league.

No, but no one knew that Howard wasn't going to play until the last minute. I do expect Dirk to play.

D12 may have had some off-court wardrobe accessory issues.

I think he figured it's the Lakers, their bad and we can beat them without me. We did get lucky, Tarik Black shouldn't be in any rotation.

Dallas' offense is SUPERB. Carlisle has done a wonderful job, again, and they added analytics to a lot of their motion offense. They probably get more wide open shots and dunks than any other team. In theory, they should beat us by more than 20.

That being said we can score on them and it helps having young. Another KEY ISSUE will be Dirk's ankle. The status of his ankle will also impact the game for obvious reasons.

Booze won't be able to stop Dirk, but on the flip side i hope Booze doesn't settle for jumpers and takes him to the basket. I also think Kobe can have a big game against Monte Ellis. We get Ellington back today too.

This is a tough game. Their record is worse than the Rockets', but they're playing much better basketball IMO.

Rockets had a cakewalk schedule. Mavs much better team than Rockets. Mavs have a potent offense. Hopefully, Lakers can keep up offensively and keep it close.

Rockets barely beat 76ers with Howard. They have some locker room problems. Harden seemed out of it. With no Howard you would think he would take 20+ shots.

The Lakers will have a difficult challenge Friday, visiting the Dallas Mavericks (9-3). The Mavericks are averaging a league's best 108.9 points a game, beating opponents by the NBA's largest margin (10.4 a game).
A win over the Mavericks would be stunning victory for the Lakers.
