|
|
This morning as I pulled into the parking lot at rolling oaks mall I made eye contact with a guy from another car while he was leaving the mall. He proceeded to park right next to me get out of his car come up to my car door and yelled at me to "get out of the car" I locked my doors and drove off to a different spot to find out this crazy guy hopped back into his car and was right behind me following me as I parked my car and was about to get out he jumped out of his car and was waiting for me to get out again only this time on the passenger side. I hurriedly locked my doors started my car again. He tried to open the car door and hit my mirror.. I proceeded to again leave the mall and find a parking spot across the mall.
Questions
1. If I did have my concealed hangun license and a gun am I allowed to shoot him?
2.What do you do in this situation?
3.Do you believe it's safe for me to go back to this mall?
4.Did what I do was right?
Also bare in my mind my phone was dead so I could not call the police. |

1. No I don't think so, unless you are white and he is black...and you kill him and can say he threatened your life in some way. He might have had a legitimate gripe in his eyes about parking lot etiquette.
2. I probably would have ignored him, and upon the second time he approached me, would have asked him, "whats your deal?". Im guessing he would say you cut him off, stole his parking spot, didn't see him when backing out etc...Told him I didn't see him and let him yell at me. Apologized for not noticing him.
3. I think its still safe for you to go to the mall. If it out of the way and not your main mall, then maybe you don't need to go back there, but if the mall is convenient for you I wouldn't let this guy keep you from going back.
4. What you did was completely right. No need to be provoked into a confrontation. just ignore and evade. Chances are something was going very wrong during his day and he was looking for someone to take it out on. |

Do you think its worth it to throw your life away over a parking spot? Not to mention California has some of the strictest laws in the nation when it comes to concealed carry...for one you can't carry a loaded weapon in your vehicle. So you would already be breaking the law just for carrying a loaded firearm while driving. There was already a guy who was recently killed at a swap meet over a parking spot here in the LA area...... |

Nope I don't think it's worth it at all but when put in a situation where another person is trying to open my car door and threatening my life I can't just sit around and wait I have to act fast. Let's say he did continue to stalk my car I have to do something after trying to remove myself from the situation. I'm no longer going to park their and will park on the other side to avoid him at all cost but if I'm ever in a future situation like this. I live in san antonio texas by the way. |

Nevermind, blast away...
Texas has very liberal gun laws, so I think you are allowed to carry a loaded weapon in your car.....and they also have stand your ground laws...
That being said, you should be prepared for any headaches in the legal front should you decide to take the law in your own hands. |

I'm getting my CCW at the beginning of next year. I am not a gun nut, but it may come in handy when you are in a car with your doors locked while someone is yelling at you to come out, and then you pull out a glock and retort with, do you really want me to come out? |

Did you get a license plate?
Was this completely unprovoked?
How about a taser? No need to risk killing someone over something so silly.
I'm sure your heart was pounding and mind was racing...you were undoubtedly in a tough position... sorry this happened to you. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

That other basketball story was 2 years ago and I learned from that situation to just leave and avoid anything unnecessary which is what I did in this situation. But when someone is trying to break into my car and threatening my life that's a different story. |

in california, don't do it. Maybe get pepper spray or something. But if you are in Texas, an entirely different scenario,. |

If you get the permit, be careful. It can make some people feel inappropriately brave.
I carry, but still would have run. The other option is to kill. |

Of course not. Why would you?

Drive away.

This is a joke, right? You can't possibly think there's any danger there. Like this guy is going to camp out at the mall awaiting your return? |

Aren't you glad you didn't that gun when that happened? You wouldn't be discussing this now if you did, well you probably would but in a orange jumpsuit and with an attorney. Just be glad that nothing happened and nobody got hurt.
cheers. |
