So I'm taking some friends from out of town to see the game tomorrow.. was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on places near staples to grab a bite and some drinks before the game besides yardhouse.

Thanks!

If you're willing to do a bit of walking, downtown LA has a wealth of bars and restaurants. If you want to be in LA Live your options are more limited.

There are some different places. I haven't been to that Hooters location. Do they have full bar or just beer? Anyone know?

There are two Irish pubs down by 7th and fig. One is Dublins on 7th, and the other is Caseys on Grand near 7th.

Next to the Pantry is Riordans Tavern. You can eat at the Pantry, or check out their food. This one is a little closer to Staples, and hasn't been crowded the few times I went.

I think those are all the ones I have been to.

Check out the Golden Gopher, Library Bar or Broadway Bar. You'll need to do some walking to get to the game, but those spots are my favorites.

There's also Hanks which is close to SC. I've never been there, but heard good things.

I would recommend Tom's Urban or El Cholo. Toms is the closest place to staples and has good bar, good americana food, and is always packed with fans El Cholo is one street over and is a mexican restaurant. More low key if you are looking for something more quiet.

Been to Hooters, they have a limited bar and it's usually packed.
The other pubs you mentioned probably have a better selection of "libations."

More of a lounge/speakeasy vibe - The Varnish

Drinks n' eats - The Stocking Frame

Both pricey and some would say "hipster-y", but both good spots IMO

If you want a less crowded place with a good beer selection and nice gourmet burgers, go to The Escondite aka The Hideout.

We would go to a hotel across the street, parking was a little cheaper. Of course I can't remember the name.

It's not exactly hip or anything splendiferous but it's close enough and it's a clean pub with decent food and prices called "Riordan's" (next to the Pantry) that I usually hit with the lady. Little-to-no crowds, low key and affordable happy hour. Chill.

There's a cool bar by the pool at Hotel Figueroa. It's usually not crowded and it's a nice place to hang.

I'm sure there'll be bars next to/ all around the Staples center. Some of these "Demonstrators" are itching to cross the metal barriers to loot and burn. Just waiting for a flashpoint. Lots of goodies in the Staples center.

Never been to the bar but my friend got married there. The pool area is nice and I really loved the decor and the vibe there.
